99% of people are scammers!?

Twice got scammed, first time in this forum, used a "middleman" well photoshopped skype name in picture, was my bad cause didn't check. Took all my rs good items and dropped "untradeble" firecape, void etc stuff
second time? In other forum i went first, cause i thought he was not lieing anything. GOT RIPPED OFF AGAIN. Stole my account, changed email etc. Why you people do this!? If you can't afford buying shit, then atleast MAKE YOURSELF THESE THINGS AND SEE HOW MUCH EFFORT YOU HAVE TO PUT IN!
Useless garbage people who scam. ALWAYS ATLEAST DOUBLE CHECK AND ALWAYS USE VERIFIED MIDDLEMAN!

 

You should have known to double check and verify with site pms ALWAYS. All I can say is that it really sucks you got scammed, and I hope you get what's rightfully yours, back.

Not everyone is a scammer, but if very few people were, then even then you have to be cautious.


In the meantime, make sure to properly report both scammers, as best as possible. They don't deserve to get away with it, nor be confident in scamming any more people.

 

there are really alot of scammers & imposters around u need to be careful and make sure you are trading the right person or talking to the right one.


You are new mostly of people who add you are maybe imposters and will just link you the legit users vouch thread. That happens to me when i was new a lot if imposters are adding me and im just blocking them after.

Imo just talk to people that you added on skype and talk mostly on pm here on sythe. Scammers targets new comers coz they know they are not used to trading here.

 

Bad apples prey on the unaware, you just have to practice safe trading practices. It can be disheartening but learn from your mistakes.

In the mean time please report the two scammers following the stickies in report a scammer

Yeah, it is a virtual world, so we will be scammed carelessly, just be careful , and choose a trusted site, maybe you can find it by yourself or from your friends recommendation .

Anyways, not much you can complain about- you were nowhere near careful enough, and you should have contemplated the risks before going into a trade.

 

You should think of every trade as a test. If you don't prepare well enough for the test and expect to breeze through it with a passing grade you will regret it big time.

 

People usually get scammed by chasing low prices from less trusted users. There are reliable people for nearly every service on Sythe, which tend to cost more than services from non-trusted users. If you find you are getting scammed often, it's likely because you are taking high risks looking for low prices.

 

Guys, don't get me wrong, it was just my first experience, but to see, how many people try to scam its ridiculous. Avoided like 10 people before those real scams. Well i was stupid but i will be careful next time. Even though if member seems trusted, many post etc, i will not trade the person without middleman who private messages me first and is legit. The post was made because i am pissed off and trying to send message to people to be more beware about these scammers. If you have low post amount, you are new in forum ,trying to sell or buy something, ALWAYS USE TRUSED MIDDLE MAN

 

It's like this with any market.

Many of our first experiences were scams, so you shouldn't feel too bad. Use this as a learning experience for future trades.

 

Tbh scams are happening a lot here because of:

1. Over the internet.., people dont think they will get in trouble + its way easier.
2. Most of the scammers here are kids that just wants pixels and find that scams are a great way to earn money in RS.
3. People isnt careful enough. If you watch the report a scammer section over the weeks, ull see that its ALWAYS (or practically) people who joined recently or people who traded with an untrusted person.
4. People are taking way too high risks -.- do you want to spend a couple bucks more and buy from a trusted member and keep all of the RSGP, or do you want to find the cheapest price that will get you NO RSGP because of the scam..

Depends on your definition of trouble.

If you mean that they don't need to pay back the money, then yes you're right. They don't get in trouble.

They do get banned from the site though which is more of a penalty for people that have put time and money into the site, but let's face it... 70% -at least- of the scammers are Newcomers/people posing as trusted individuals, so a ban means absolute shit to them.

That is why it is even more necessary for people to be cautious and ask for verifications all the time. Never buy accounts for untrusted people and never take Paypal from untrusted people. Always use a middleman if you are unsure whether or not you trust the individual and get PM confirmation from the middleman as well (the last thing you want is him running off with your money :/).

 

Yea.. obviously, over the internet its hard to keep the control and make everything safe. Thats why they go with it. But you never know what can happen.




scammers here arent real scammers tho. They are just kids that thinks its a good way to make money without getting in trouble. They will probably never scam irl. Ask them to steal 5$ from someone without internet and they wont do it.. But ask them to steal 200M RSGP here and they will.

 

This. Many people are tempted and motivated to scam when the opportunity arises because they know that there will be no serious consequence as compared to irl when their whole future can be destroyed by getting into illegal activities and committing criminal offences.

 

Sorry to hear about you being scammed, hopefully you can use it as a learning curve and not repeat past errors. I've been scammed various times and although it's a bit shit, It's definitely helped me learn things. Even in real life, It's taught me to be careful about being trustworthy. Because people are always looking for a quick buck and taking advantage of a newcomer is a good opportunity.

Not sure about the 99% figure though

 

It's better to buy something at a typically higher price from a trusted person than buying something low from a non trusted person. That's just how it goes unfortunately

 

At the start you may be scammed a few times, but trust me, you learn from your mistakes, and I havent been scammed in over 3 years.

 

Atleast you learned a lesson...
