Christmas 2014 event Feedback

Tell us how you think about the organisation of the event. Was it all good? Was there something we can improve on?

It was done very well I felt. The scavenger hunt was a little rough at first, but I think everything turned out nice in the end.

Rough as in appropriately difficult, or as in unfair? The feedback about the halloween one was that it was too easy, so I made this one harder. I wanted to make it even harder than it was too

 

I liked that it was a bit difficult. I was actually stuck for a bit at one point. Being slightly more difficult could have been fun too!

 

The Christmas and Halloween was the best imo, great job on it

 

Was handled very well. Organization and design was great. I'd recommend a larger advertising opportunity for the CDT, maybe a stylized font on the homepage (when the thread is bumped etc) just for a couple days to attract many new people - it's always the same people applying every time.

Just a thought, even though I didn't win in the top, because of the competition for the challenges, I'd want more faces and participants, personally. Improving on getting more people.

 

I liked how there were no requirements to join. It was great overall!

When you asked feedback for 2014 Halloween Event, I suggested you to add something about the event near the logo. That would greatly improve participation.

The Main thread in Community General was never updated correctly. There's still one event saying "coming soon."

The Christmas Community Tree thread was never publicized on the major Event threads...you had to dig through a sub-forum at the bottom of the Forums.

I got cheated- The Gaming Tournament was supposed to have three games; lack of CDT members not adding games on time. At the end there were only two; the second game only having a five day time span. The third game release date was edited out like it was never mention on the OP. That GT was supposed to be my source of points, and I only received one for it, even though I would've received all two if the games had gone like they were supposed to be. Short of 1 point=one less entry and no Christmas 2014 MiniRank for me.

 

CDT has always been full of lazy people, when I was in there Roary was the only one giving a shit.

 

It's funny how one or two don't even participate in helping(Based on public eye), and the rest are Sythe Moderators.

Is this really community?

 

No, I agree, the CDT did try, but I was just thinking of ways to improve on getting more participation. There's no questioning we have the members, we just could get more faces in.. you could say I'm brainstorming.

There's always ways to improve in all realms; I'm sure what we'll come up with something to get more people, even if it is a slow growth.

Not everyone from the CDT has to post about it. Can't judge what they do, just because we don't see them working behind-the-scenes.

 

It was lack of communication. I don't really know exactly what happened (I wasn't involved in xmas event) but one member had to be offline for a while and others didn't know what the planned game was or something like that. Just need to work on being more communicative as a team. It's hard to structure something like that on a forum.

 

True, that's why I made sure to mention "at least public eye."


And Roary a Skype Group Chat for CDT would solve many problems.

 

I would use a mobile messaging app for group/team projects, especially for those with phones always on them. Can send out a quick pm and talk, even when busy.

I can list a couple good ones if you want (Even though, I'm sure you have some type of group chat online though, maybe skype).

 

We have a Skype one but being a group chat, a lot of non-CDT stuff ends up in there so it's pretty pointless unless everyone is online at the same time to discuss actual CDT stuff. I myself elected to leave it, Idk if anyone else did as well
