How to merch?

Can anyone give me information on to merch? I have no idea how to start. Any input on how to start merching will be appreciated.

 

There really isn't a whole lot to teach. Have a decent cash stack, join a merch pc clan, and buy bulk of an item and then re-sell it for a little more. Can either do short term on items that are easily flip-able or long term and wait for the item to rise and be profitable. Its always good to jump right on items when new updates are announced too, bigger chance of profit.

 

Thanks, do you know any non-risky stable priced items to flip? Also what's a good merching clan?

I do the exact opposite and flip with items that have low supply and low demand. I have made some great profits as when supply gets really low due to high amounts of specific item that I'm buying the price starts going up even though demand is low. I also choose items that are generally not worth making / obtaining as it would take too much effort or cost more money and then people just tend to pay more for the items and I start making some cash.

If you have lots of gp I'd suggest doing this instead of common merch items, profits get way better but its also a little bit more risky if you don't know what you are doing.

 

I suggest you to start flipping nature runes as I started in RS3. Buy them for around ~1 GP below market price (profit depends on how much you invest initially) and selling it for ~1 GP above the market price. Good luck.

 

Buy 1 rare that you think you can flip later on. While waiting, merch lower tiered items such as runes or lower tiered weapons.

 

I bought into 8 dragon platebody a little over a week ago and then made around 400k off each one in just over a day by waiting.
Just look at graphs for items, think about what you would want then flip it.

 

I've been fucking around with Yew logs, Oak Logs & both the Turkey's for a week or so on a mule; Around 10m up.

 

The concept of merching is to buy items for a lower price than you sell them for.

This is exactly what you do.

 

The best way to Merch would be to find an item yourself or join a clan who can help you out. I mean for example, you could be given an item to flip but due to fluctuating prices it is no longer feasible.

I personally found VIS wax was a good option but good items to make small amount of profits are quite easily, look on most traded on RS homepage. During this time look to invest in a rare or go on 'Bottoming out' on www.grandexchangecentral.com (RS3? ). Always keep an eye on prices and deals in the GE, Recently, I got a scythe for 74m and Sold it for 156m - 82m pure profit XD

 

U cant just ask how to merch lol. What did u expect to do by learning how to merch? Buy things 4 cheap n sell for profit? Thats the answer ur gonna get most of the time. People could go into detail but u already know how to lol.

 

There are tons of FCs you can join. I know the rare FC is R Quark. They'll tell you the most recent buy and sell price of items. Once you get a hang of it, you'll see a common trend. You'd want to buy below the sell price and flip.

Nice job. Btw if you need info on how to find minimum/maximum margins;
1. Buy 1-10 (depending on cost) of an item at around +15% (something ridiculously above G.E. price).
2. Record price at which each item instantly bought at. (Known as the insta-buy price)
3. Sell the item(s) for -15% or something ridiculously below G.E. price.
4. Record the price at which it instantly sold at. (Insta-sell price)
5. Now you have your minimum/maximum margins. The more of the item you did this experiment with, the more accurate your margins will be.

Now this is what you do with the margins:
1. Buy the item(s) at the insta-sell price.
2. Sell the item(s) at insta-buy price.
You may want to trim the margins down a little to speed it up a bit.
Note that the guide I just typed up is specifically 'flipping'.
Items that can be 'merched' over longer periods of time include rares, bonds, weapons or armour that are expected to undergo enhancements, etc.

Flipping with a just 5m stack is a really good way to learn how to play with the margins and the insta-sell and insta-buy prices. It's what I used to get started - just use the method Bac0n posted above

 

If you have a few bill then use multiple accs to merch, you can check prices on one account then use those prices for your other accounts and increase your item limit. The best items to do this on are drys, avoid rares their margins are terrible.
