    Constant phishing emails I've been receiving for months and even during the time I didn't play -.-
    They keep saying my email has been changed so please reset it or password etc.
    Beginning to piss me off now, I used to just delete them but if I unsubscribe via my email provider which will block them, will that do it? They say its sent via [email protected]
    Which was on my contacts list. If I block it I won't miss any emails will I?

    Phishing

    I remember a project years ago, in which people signed up for a phishing service.

    They paid the website to collect emails and farm phishes for them.

    As the email appears to have come from the legitimate jagex address you will probably block the real emails as well as the fake.

    Add a filter to your emails like "dear player" ( Jagex will never refer to you as "player") so any email containing the words "dear player" will be auto deleted.

    If you are getting a very specific message in the subject field add part or all of the text to a subject field filter.

    Example, if you are receiving the following subject repeatedly;

    Your account has received an infraction.

    Add "Your account has received an infraction" to your subject filter.

    If you post the email service you use I'll post step by step instructions on how to apply filters to incoming emails.

    They go to my junk folder as well.

    Phishing emails go to tons of people, they just gather email lists - it's not like it hurts them to send more. I get phishing emails for WoW all the time & I've never played.

    There are lots of email spoofers which can be used to send email from any addresses (Even [email protected], yeah). Make sure you do not fall for these.

    People still try to do this stuff? I used to get emails like this all the time a couple of years ago, but I haven't had one nowadays in atleast a year.

    Still a very popular method of getting access to another player's account. I've only received the email once or twice and I trusted my instinct which told me it was 'bullshit' , the email was written very specifically not aimed at me so but the way the email went about trying to get my user details. As a result, I used the filter system, try that. If not just block the email I mean, is there anything from Jagex that you actually need in an email.
