OMM Application Suggestions

I will build off what Dave stated here;

The application process should be altered to incorporate a mandatory varied of games. As of now the requirements for an official middleman application are as follows:

Although, the majority of first round applicants don't succeed in becoming an OMM. Some don't even make it after the second round of applications, even though they have completed the requirements.

The standard OMM should be able to operate in any gaming markets with no uncertainty. Instead of 'trades for anything up to..' it should state, 'trades in [game] worth up to...' This would require applicants, like Dave stated, 'to have an underlying "guarantee" that [they] know what [they're] doing.' in order to successfully achieve the official middleman status. An application for OMM should include proof that the applicant has trading experience in the majority, if not all, of the the gaming markets.

As of now the application requirements are too reliant on trust where they should be reliant on capabilities and trust.

OMMs can choose to just MM trades in X section, so we shouldn't make them have to MM trades in Y to become an OMM.

Also, I wouldn't support OMM's for different sections

 

I don't think the way you propose it is the way, but I like saying that overall you must have at least one for X game, Y game.. it's a good idea.

 

You're allowed to have a certain niche when it comes to MM'ing.

There are no constraints on which market in-particular you can MM for, so defining this in the application requirements would be counter-productive.

 

No one deals in every gaming market, so this suggestion just limits the scope of OMMing even further. Sorry, but no support.

 

There are way too many game markets for this to be feasible. The point is to show you're trustworthy and capable of middlemanning professionally.

Recently I was asked to mm a soulsplit trade. I've never played soulsplit before but it was easy enough to download the client and make an account. A lot of OMMs will be willing to mm your (obscure game) trade provided you give them enough information to assist you with your trade, we don't need to make this a requirement

no support, as an OMM as well as a MM it's up to you to decide what trades you are and aren't willing to MM. Apps are already hard enough as it is anywho.

 

No support on this. People should be able to middleman the trades they want and are comfortable with. Plus the current system helps other free middlemen get more trades via doing other types of trades.

No support. I'd be annoyed if I tried using a MM who claimed he knew what he was doing in game X, when really he had no fucking clue and was only doing it for an OMM app.

 

While it would be nice to see MMs explore new markets, it would seem a bit harsh to make it mandatory that MM x deals with game x and MM y deals with game y.
