OMMs of 2014

I don't think that the amonunt of people requiring an mm to do their trades are decreasing.
I get like a trade daily tbh now that I have some rep.

Also agree with Dave, I always wondered why those legit users got their apps denied

 

It will have been the 2012-2013 decline in the market. During 2014, the market has definitely picked up again though, so I presume OMM applications will increase in 2015.

But seriously it's because they just accepted too many people in 2012-2013, and some of them do it for free, and that makes being an OMM no longer desirable.

I'd say it needs to be made a bit easier again, there isn't even anything to deny now - the GP value and reduced trades on top of other things have seen to that.

This was never a problem when there were more frequent apps completed back in the day

 

I'm totally down for this. Would actually make finishing my 2nd app a priority if people got something out of it and had incentive to come to me over one of the 13423561 free MMs.

 

I completely agree, honestly if a guy had a 1000 vouches and wasn't an OMM vs another guy with similar accolades but was an OMM I would go first regardless.

 

The decline of RuneScape definitely affects the amount of trades that go through on this forum.

back when i started 100 + vouchs for 1 person was very rare and hard to come by, which made it a challenge and a very attractive goal, helping people and was'nt many highly vouched people around. Now their are so many people with hundreds of vouches which can be easily obtained offering their services and alot more free trusted MM these days so a lot of competition for the MM'in. You have to be in it for the right reasons and not just trying to make money from it

I will build off what Dave stated here;

The application process should be altered to incorporate a mandatory varied of games. As of now the requirements for an official middleman application are as follows:

Although, the majority of first round applicants don't succeed in becoming an OMM. Some don't even make it after the second round of applications, even though they have completed the requirements.

The standard OMM should be able to operate in any gaming markets with no uncertainty. Instead of 'trades for anything up to..' it should state, 'trades in [game] worth up to...' This would require applicants, like Dave stated, 'to have an underlying "guarantee" that [they] know what [they're] doing.' in order to successfully achieve the official middleman status. An application for OMM should include proof that the applicant has trading experience in the majority, if not all, of the the gaming markets.

As of now the application requirements are too reliant on trust where they should be reliant on capabilities and trust.

my idea for omm requirment:

-1k vouches
-svu
-5 trades for anything up to $50*.
-5 trades for anything between $50 and $100*.
-10 trades for anything at or over $100*.
-3 trades for anything at or over $200*.
-1 trade for anything at or over $350*.

higher trade reqs will make people just give up.

 

1K vouches?

Quality over quantity imo.

 

Doesn't really matter lol If someone puts enough effort into sythe and gains 1k vouches he/she wont scam.

 

True, but I wouldnt want people with serious vouches (300-500) with good quality to have to feel like they need to do bond sales to reach 1k vouches.

 

By that standard won_gold, and other chinese companys could become OMM instantly.
