Is world peace impossible?

If it was possible it would be very awesome. Sadly governments make this impossible.

 

There's always something no matter what. Either the governments or the police will start something. Just like this ferguson shit. I bet nobody here heard the other side where they have video of him robbing a store then trying to take the cops gun.

 

So many religions, races, countries, and opposition in this world. World peace is impossible.

 

Simple, never will there be COMPLETE world peace.

 

Maybe if we centralize the governments into a WORLD government, then have a civil war/revolution, rebuild by decentralization [back to original settings prior to centralization] ONLY THIS TIME there won't be any independent country names defined by nationality and ethnicity; just territorial names, and everyone in the world has ONE nationality - Earthlings

 

World peace cant never be achieved, since the best money is on guns, and what to do with guns? have war...

 

But governments are made up of people. You can't blame an entity for a human problem.

 

I do think that at some point in the future we will focus on virtual reality and create entire new worlds to explore.

 

I hope they are just "misunderstood" somehow..
Well their jets and subs keep invading our and our neighbour countries space, i don't know what to believe anymore

 

World peace requires balance, which is the exact opposite in what drives this world around 360 degrees every day of every year.

 

honestly, the only way i can see the whole world coming together is if , a out of sqace species threating to take over the world, and you might think its funny, but honestly i don't see shit "make world peace" a thing unless something threathen the human race

 

Yes but that would only last until the problem was solved and we're back to fighting. Kinda sad really needa threaten lives to create some peace :/. But im pretty sure itll be a disease or asteroid coming to earth than "space species threating to take over the world" and if it was aliens i doubt we'll have a chance to stop them or even get a moment to create peace as the technology to even reach us would mean they would be hella advances.

 

Not too impossible but pretty impossible, because we only need our leaders to agree to each others.

If US didn't also waged war against Iraq, I can't imagine how the world is right now and they did it because Iraq didn't agreed into supplying/giving them oil.

 

Not to insult you but it is this declaration and more importantly it's subtle nature that does not call for suspicion that I believe acts as a foundation as to why world peace is not achievable.

The problem is that we are being led, and we're fine with it. There are choice humans at the top of some political food-chain pulling strings based on their individual notions and the well-being of their family bloodlines hundreds/thousands of years down the road.

They start wars on an international and even a civil scale, misrepresenting all sorts of people in order to monger hatred and unrest, turning eyes to cutting edge discoveries like hemp and the fact that as a species, we have the ability to feed every single person on the planet. Our leaders, some of which we've never even seen before, indulge in the most extreme of bigotry in order to fulfill the wants of a few.

World peace will only be possible when the individual humans of the planet come together to dismantle the systems that render some the 'leaders' and some the 'led'. Unfortunately, humans have been confused; we think that we are 'Americans' or 'Brits' or 'Chinese'. We forgot that we are humans on Earth, all relevant to one another.

It's very possible, but those who don't want it have created a matrix that humanity is so deep into, who knows what it'll take to come out.

 

I want to say it's not possible because we have different ideals of peace.

Some people want peace and also want to remain wealthy beyond belief. Some just want the wars to stop raging on in their countries. Some just want clean drinking water and a solid meal a day to be 'at peace'.

 

Impossible. Too much corruption within governments and charity leaders. Also when you take into account the different ideology's of all religions it just can't happen.
There will always be someone/some corporation there to exploit a position of power.

 

It is possible, but it cannot be done with differences in race and religion, culture and languages.

There either needs to be a World Order, in which everyone comes together under one government/language/currency/religion, or a genocide of all other beliefs and races to bring the triumph of one people, ultimately creating a World Order.

Hitler is viewed primarily as the example of evil, but his vision would eventually have brought peace to the people of Earth.

 

Possible, but without conflict, how do we know true peace?

Suppressing all the other countries which creates conflict in those countries and feelings of hate towards Westerners, further dividing us more than geographical borders could.
