Bitcoin as a donation option

We buy btc at a 1:1 ratio so btc donations could go straight to us and we'd pay the $ amount to Sythe on pp at the time of the transaction :love:

 

I'm all for more bond holders to provide more option to people but Matt doesn't seem keen. Have you contacted him about being one?

 

We'd have people contacting our employees since probably 70% of the time its them online not Jess/I so probs not viable for us

 

30% of the time I'm sure would be viable since BTC I don't think would be a greatly demanded method

 

For btc you can have an automatic checkout which converts the current btc value to a USD amount, like the bitpay checkout on our site, if Matthew was willing to set that up to payout directly to our btc wallet then I'd have no problem converting the btc to USD on pp. That way the ranks can be given out automatically, too.

Why has nobody addressed line "bitcoin is too unstable"?

Bitcoin can be transferred to fiat -instantly- to bank accounts without ever having to deal with a single satoshi. Bitpay, coinbase, and many other sites offer carts like this and callbacks so you can enable automation. These sites honor the price of bitcoin when the payment is initiated and the user paying has a pre determined amount of time to complete the transaction (usually 10 minutes). The 10 minutes limits any small price flux. Once the payment is made you can enable auto withdraw to fiat to your bank. With a little work, sythe could completely automate their donation system, remove all possibilities of chargebacks, and never worry about a volatile currency. I'm seriously missing the dilemma with accepting bitcoins as a donation method.

There's no reason not to have this. I know of a few people that were interested in donating via bitcoin, but we do not offer it.

 

I honestly think it's the staffs lack of understanding as to why it's not accepted.
