Are you afraid of death?

Are you afraid of death? Not knowing what's next? Or fearing the aftermath of your death?

I don't fear death, but I fear what's to come of it. I always wonder if I were to die today, how would my peers and family react to it? There is some level of embarrassment being that it's almost certain you will be headline news (depending on the cause), and you cause so many people grief that the very thought is unbearable.

 

I don't necessarily think about death very often, but every time I awake or fall asleep I do remember that it may be my last. I've grown to accept the fact that one day everything must come to an end, and I'm really not afraid of it anymore. I expect my family and loved ones to be very heartbroken and dejected on the day of my passing, but you have to understand that it will happen to everyone one day.

 

Yes and no.

Scared to think what will happen with those I'm close to.

Not scared about what will happen to me. I guess we can never really know once we actually die. Is there god? Is there science? All these questions arise in this topic. I think theres a god who placed that 1 atom in the beginning.

 

Eternal sleep, can't be too bad. However, it is scary to think that we won't exist, all will be gone and one will just be a memory (a good one -- I hope). I like to think I will die in my sleep so I won't notice; just casually drift off to the other side, you know.

 

I dont fear death, I may fear a slow and painful death but I dont find death scary in itself. I figure it'll be like before I was born. Nothing.

 

Death? No. Afterwards? Maybe. I wouldn't necessarily call myself afraid, just rather curious and unsure if I actually want to know what's next if there is a next.

 

No. Death is just a part of life.

The world doesn't stop spinning, life just moves on as it has done and will continue to do.

What happens when you die happens and there is nothing you can do to change it.

I'd say I'm more interested as to what happens when you die than fear of what happens.

 

The only death I fear is a premature one that strikes me down before I've had a chance to live life to its fullest.

 

I don't fear death since I believe death was set out for you before you were born. It's all in the plans that a higher being created for you.

I fear dying an unimaginable death.

 

Death is an everyday reality that most people choose to ignore, but there is no need to fear it.

 

Death hasn't really been something that concerns me, but afterlife, definitely. I've always questions if there is a Heaven or Hell, what if you just die and you're staring at the black in your coffin.

 

yep, when i bike next to the freeway i always panic when a car comes too close, shit's scary, im not prepared to die just yet :d

 

I don't think we are scared of being 'dead' i think it's how we die that scares us most.

It;s kinda like dreamless sleeping I bet, where you only remember you;re alive when you wake up the next day.

The only fear I have is hoping it's not soon.

Not really, I just hope I get to accomplish my goals before I die.

 

A few months back i always got depressed when i thought about dying.
But now i'm not afraid anymore. I've faced all my fears and now i have no fears at all because i believe that everything happens for a reason.

 

I think it gets easier as you get older, but yeah I think its natural to be frightened which i am
