Anime Forum

I would support this because I believe that anime is a big thing around this world that lots of people watch. Anime is different from a TV show/series. Also, I am a huge anime fan

I think people are looking at it like this:

Discussion creates forum.

When in reality, forum creates discussion.

I don't think it would garner a lot of activity from seeing other forums.

 

On the contrary, I believe it can surpass many current forums in activity. Anime has a cultural impact in todays society like no other. It's influence permeates all over the world with it's unique style of art. There are forums solely dependent on anime alone. All the websites I've been apart of that included anime in their forums have a large base of participants. I think we should give it a chance as we did with sports and health.

I don't see the point in this. Unless there's an excessive amount of discussion about anime, I don't see why this would be necessary. Anime is still TV, and to my knowledge, there isn't a lot amount of anime being talked about in the Movies/Television subsection. And even if there was, the only reason for this would be if it would help keep the Movies/Television subsection uncluttered with purely anime discussion (which isn't happening as of right now).

Music is media, why does it need it's own forum?
Video clips is media, why does it need it's own forum?

Anime is a Japanese innovation that doesn't just cover television, there are also mangas (books), and other discussions that depict the subject. It's very popular at the moment, and it's the reason why it deserves it's own forum.

 

Honestly, I'd love for Anime/Manga to have it's own section, but I'm not sure there would be enough activity to constitute an entire section.

I'd say create a sub-forum under Media (takes an entire 2 seconds) and if it garners enough activity perhaps move it up from a sub-forum. If not, no-harm is done and it gets deleted/archived. We've had forums for smaller niches (ex: investing) in the pass and I do not see a real reason on why not to try it out.

The websites I was talking about that don't solely surround anime are not anime specific websites. Those were just users who had an interest in anime, thus created a large community within a single forum. It's not really realistic to expect new members to come to sythe just for a single forum, but I can guarantee that this forum would be more active than 10 current forums outside of the market. I'm just saying we should give this a chance.

He is in favor for an anime forum. I'm curious as to why you don't support this.

 

I support the creation of an Anime forum. If I was an anime watcher that joined Sythe, I would never expect discussion for anime to be created in the Television section. (This is opinionated).
