Need another monitor

Hello fellow sythe users, I am looking to purchase a decent size monitor. I have never used a second monitor, but I know it would be very helpful to have a second full screen. I currently have a 16 inch asus laptop and was wondering if I need to get a specific brand to go with it or could i get any brand i want?

Also, if any of you have any monitors you love to use please post them down below! I am looking for a solid monitor but not too expensive!

I'm assuming you can just plug it through with an hdmi cable.

i dont know how it will register with your currently laptop monitor though.

 

I have an unopened Acer 1080p monitor sitting in my room if you are interested in buying it. I will edit this post with some pictures tomorrow when I get home.

I did that for years and it's great. Your laptop will almost certainly have an HDMI port and most non-cheap-as-fuck monitors will have one.

This has got to be the funniest shit I've read all week here lol you want to hook up another monitor to your laptop unless you got some beast laptop expect the life of your laptop to go down the toilet fast.

 

I did this for quite a while. Any brand will work. You just connect it via hdmi and configure your windows settings. You'll be able to drag things between the screens. I didn't use it as a "second" screen. I just put my laptop on a nightstand behind my desk and closed it, and used the screen as my monitor.

 

Biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard someone spit on this forum. If you've got a complete shit laptop it'll still run dual monitors just fine.

Also, monitors are not brand dependant at all, your Asus laptop will work with all brands of monitor. All you need to do it make sure you have the right connections, everyone talked about HDMI but there is a chance your laptop doesn't have an HDMI port and might have a VGA. If you want us to tell you just post your laptop model.

It is 100% possible to use a monitor side by side with your laptop.

 

Yup. My dad has a multi-monitor setup in his office, and he runs it with a piece of shit Macbook.

it doesn't take much power to push a multi-monitor setup, unless you want to do extended-resolution gaming. In that case.. yes you'd need more power because you are rendering 3D. Integrated graphics can manage browsing, general things like photo editing, and anything else that might make use of the extended desktop space without an actual "core load"

 

My friend I have colleague's who work at IBM and Dell they don't design laptop's to last forever majority of laptop's get high temperatures after couple hours of use...

The point I am stating is using a dual monitor on a laptop for long periods of time will shorten the overall life expectancy of the laptop it's one thing to plug in an HDMI and watch a movie or a Tv Show for 1-2 hours it's another to run a dual monitor for 6+ hours everyday...

 

Getting a monitor is pretty crucial especially if your playing a certain game.
