Allow forum games in sections beside sand box & donor lounge

Suggestion : Allow forum games in sections beside sand box & donor lounge.

Some threads that are forum games, but are related to something like League of Legends or Runescape, should be allowed in their respected sections.

I not only think, but has been even proven (below), that these threads will be less played if they were in the sand box/donor lounge rather than an appropriate section relating to that thread.

This thread, a forum game, relating to league of legends was removed from the LoL discussion section to the sand box.
In the time it was in the LoL section a total of 24 pages of posts were made during a time period of 23 days.
Since it has been removed to the sand box (2 days) there has been 1 post.

I guarantee the inactivity of this thread will only continue.

The primary reason for the transfer of the thread, as I have understood from Ghast (the person who reported the thread) and Entrr, (the mod who moved the thread) is that members are gaining post count, effortlessly.

Personally, I don't see why this should be an issue. Post count shouldn't be of any value to anyone.
A few members mentioned that, scammers/vaders can gain post count from my thread and use it as a source of legitimacy. I find this odd, to why anyone would trust someone with a load of posts.
If this is the case we should remove participation mini ranks, which look even more appealing than a high amount of posts.

I highly request the staff of Sythe to consider my suggestion or find an alternate solution to the gain of the post count problem (I suggested something earlier, but was denied)

That would defeat the purpose of having the sandbox forum.

 

I personally support this idea, i dont care about the postcount really, it's just a very fun game to play while browsing sythe, i would agree that having postcount disabled on that thread would be the optimal thing, but as that is not possible we should look to find other means to do it, couse having a LoL related game in sandbox - outside of the LoL section, wont attract any LoL players to play the game.

The sand box is not entirely based upon forum games. And like I said this is only for forum games that CAN fit in other sections that relate to them. The ones that are general can go in the sand box.

 

Did you know that competition is a synonym for game?

 

It was the majority of the activity to the League section I'll agree on that. That thread had more combined replies then like the last 2 pages of recent threads. But it was starting to show a correlation that threads that were posted along/after the thread in question did receive more replies which shows that people coming to the game thread ended up posting on other threads in the section raising the activity of the League of Legends section.

 

Did you not read what I said? I said it's not ENTIRELY based upon forum games.

It clearly says Community events, competitions, prizes, jokes and GENERAL FUN.

Sandbox is clearly not only used for forum games, and in my opinion, it hardly is.
Please take your redundant posts elsewhere.

And like I said for the third time, not all forum games will be able to fit in relevant sections, those ones can go in the sand box.

This is not defeating, hell it's not even putting a dent, to the purpose of the sandbox forum.

 

Discussion sections are not for games, but for discussion of said topic.
Your thread was moved to the sandbox, and belongs there.
If there ever is a genuine thread that sparks discussion, yet also has a forum game side to it, I think we'd all be glad to leave it in the section it was created in.

Your thread is not genuine discussion, it is a forum game.
A forum game about Runescape 3 would not belong in the Runescape 3 section, but in the Sandbox, Donorlounge or even spam forum.

 

In a way it is discussing the life of a regular league of legends player. Is it not?

I do understand this, hence the suggestion to allow games in those sections.

 

i support this, its a fun game game that have topics based on league of legends. I don't know why you guys would move the topic to the sandbox, it belongs in the league of legends section.

 

For members like me who dont venture into the sandbox, this will just kill these sorts of threads.

I'm the 3rd highest poster on the OP's example thread, since i live in the LoL section pretty much, but i can assure you i wont be scanning the sandbox to find this thread just to post.

No support. These types of game-based threads don't belong outside of the sand box. They don't encourage any sort of discussion, so they don't belong in a discussion section. Plain and simple.

 

Absolutely no support. Just go read Ghast's posts on your thread in the Sythe Support section. Everything he says makes logical sense. It's all spam. If you don't understand why the sandbox exists that's your fault, don't try to change a system that's been in place for a while because you can no longer farm posts and don't feel as popular anymore.

Like I mentioned in this thread, I don't care about the post count. It's so that people who actually play LoL will visit it more often.

The sandbox, isn't primarly based upon forum games as i've already mentioned. Please go read what it says underneath. And I also said general forum games can still belong in the sandbox.
