Why has my thread been moved?

This thread, that was actively played in the LoL section (24 pages in 22 days) has been moved to the sand box..

The section that it was originally in clearly says "Discuss League of Legends here." My thread is obviously about League of Legends.

Just cause the sand box is used for threads that are like forum games doesn't mean all of them should go there (IMO). If this thread were to remain in sandbox, I highly doubt anyone would play it. People who visit the league section, would obviously play it, because they know how to. In the sand box, we'd have people who don't even play LoL attempting to play the game.

Please, requesting a move back to the league of legends discussion section.

 

Because it's an easy way to spam post count. I personally don't see the issue with it though and think people are too worried about people gaining post count - it's just an arbitrary number.

PM Entrr about moving it back, he's the one that moved it there

 

it's a sandbox thread.. in the form of LoL. All the giveaways in there are mainly RS3 but ain't in that section SLASHZ.

 

The giveaway is just a side thing I added to it every now and then, the main thread is about league

I'm the one who reported the thread. I'll list out my reasons for doing so.

My quote of the day thread was moved from general discussion to the sandbox. Your thread is an exaggerated version of that in which there is no limit to posting other than waiting for someone to post after you, which is a sandbox general rule in most competition threads. The thread reached 460 replies in 22 days, that's pretty ridiculous. The thread was only moved, not locked. It's in the appropriate forum now, and if you, or anybody else who posted in the thread still wish to have fun without the addition of post count, that is still an option.

 

Repetitive? I hope you know it's basically relating stuff to other league players in many DIFFERENT ways
Why is gaining post count such a big deal to you guys? Who cares about post count, it's not like it has any value?

If vaders were really that keen on accessing other sections with ease, they could still do it by spamming in every section on random threads with any posts relating to the OP, and in some cases you wouldn't even have to THINK about it like you mentioned.

Nothing can stop that, moving a thread won't make a difference

Also i'd love to know why you reported it? I understand your reasoning but, why did YOU report it? What harm is it causing to YOU?

Does it kill you to see members get post count for free?
Or is this a way of making everything even cause your thread got removed.

My god, over complicate things a little more please. Mods visited the league section daily and had nothing against it, they EVEN played the game.

Inclined to agree with Ghast on this. His points are valid, and all other threads of that nature are in sand box. Yours does not have any specific characteristic that distinguishes it from the other threads in sand box, so why shouldn't it have been moved there?

As for PC, it is an issue with vaders/future scammers. They would be attracted to a thread like yours in the LoL section because, as Ghast mentioned, it requires little thought or effort to post. A high post count can be mistaken as a measure of someone's trust by newcomers, and it often is.

 

Oh so, then we should probably restrict giving mini ranks if that's the case, because that's used as a symbol of trust as well. And it's easily obtainable.

Like I said if scammers/vaders needed to raise their post count that much they could still do it by posting on other threads, as not all threads require "effort" or "thought to post". They could just spam through the forum in the same way.

And I guarantee you it takes more "effort" or "thought" to post on my thread than at least 30% of the threads in this entire forum

His points are redundant, other than the fact that it belongs in the sand box because its a forum game. Which explains why he didn't respond to my argument. And neither did you.

 

Ghast is totally right. Threads like this have always gone in the sand box. If you dropped any other game name in the title of the thread (rs, cs:go, the sims for all I can), would that make it appropriate for any of those subforums? No one wants to see 5 different threads that are all based on the same concept, and as they're all based on a game, they go in the sand box.

You mentioned something about a central argument; if you want to c/p that we can respond to it more easily.

 

Of course that would be stupid, but ghast didn't even mention that.

The primary reason that this thread was removed because post count was being gained, effortlessly.

I am truly amused by the value of post count to some members in this forum.

 

Why are you still hung up on this? The nature of the thread did not belong in that forum. You need to accept the decision made for it. No one is trying to spite you. In essence, the thread was a guessing game.

It was a guessing game, what's your point? You still need to make up things relating to the game to say to the next person. It's not like you can just post without even playing the actual game.

I think its fine personally. Just limit posting to once every 24 hours. Like the "What are you listening to now" thread. It belongs better in LoL.

ALL of these threads require no effort to post. In fact, less effort than my thread. They all give you post count, and you can always post, basically.

 

Imo it should be at league, cuz it's bout league.
