    Social Media Question.

I am quite curious as to why anyone would ever buy twitter/instagram/fb followers.

Is there some form of way you make money out of it? How do people make 30,000 accounts or some crazy shit?

Do people do it just so they can seem popular?

I've always been quite curious as to why people buy/sell followers/likes etc.

sometimes. When something appears to be popular, people have more incentive to follow that.

    Social Media Question.

Having a high number of followers on Instagram / Facebook can make your new company appear established and trusted. However, it's a very short-sighted solution that often ends in social media accounts being banned.

Some forms of spammy advertising also depend on dummy social media accounts.

    Social Media Question.

So from reading ur 2 comments followers/likes are used for a new business essentially?

Is there any use for someone personally to do it(not a business)?

Generally, yes a new business would be ideal if they are trying to draw business. Personal accounts are just for looks really, if you have a following>follower ratio, you can fix that, etc.

Yeah pretty much this is the main reason, however, this and other black hat activities exist which could generate the person or whoever is doing this a ton of money. However this would be considered illegal and you could get prosecuted. Seen things on business news articles as well as forums about this stuff--and legal actions.

Depends, if they are real likes / followers and you are selling a general used product, such as computers it could work, but still not very efficient at all.

short term solution really in the hope of building up a real base generally, though I seen some girl on FB spend 200$ on clothes from some instagram page that had 300k likes and she got ripped off, turns out they were all fake and it was a quick online scam they were pulling.

There's also companies that would pay for advertising if you are appealing to X amount player base.

Very much used to earn trust, and if it is private to keep the confidence up, some fags just need attention. Attentionwhores.

Some people just like the buzz of feeling popular, too. There's nothing worse than slaving over social media to be e-famous, only to be out-done by someone who could do nothing and get the same amount, right? It's all just artificial fame to fill the gap in people's sad lives. For the most part, I think.
