Scamming

Recently got scammed $35 (got that money back) and $20 (working on getting that money back)

What's the point of scamming these low amounts? Especially if I can just charge it back and recover the money? I just don't get it. The person that scammed me $20, yes a large sum of $20, created his account in 2012 and had 300+ posts. I went first because I figured he wouldn't want to lose his account. Guess I was wrong.

Idk, just want some opinions.

 

Tbh only broke boys scam for low amounts like 20$ or 35$. probably some little kids that don't know any better.i wouldn't sweat it as long as you're getting your money back and getting these scums banned.

 

Just a psychological thing. It's easier to not take other peoples feelings/situation into account and act in self-interest when its over the internet largely anonymous.

 

Several variables to scam. ie: need money IRL, want something you have, etc.

They'll just repeat it again so they see it as a moneymaker.

 

also just because you got scammed 20$ dosent mean thats all they scammed.


Boatswain scam quit on me for for like 180$ but also scammed another guy in the process for like 70m 07, then also charged back everyone else (except for me for some reason)

 

Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah i'm just a little upset as it takes mild effort to report and file a chargeback, all over $20. All I wanted was to play Counter Strike... Sigh.

 

Lol yea they are all kids that think scamming on Internet is a moneymaking but its a freaking bad moneymaking since 1.Its way better to have a successful business by being trusted and not scamming.. Ull do more profit + good thing to have when youre gunna try to apply for a job later 2. Reputation ..... 3. ... 4.... Etc. theres so many reasons NOT to scam but obviously kids dont get that

 

Unfortunately that's how the internet is, I wish I could show people i'm legit but thats hard with a $25 rank. Just be patient and get that money back, file a report and find someone more legit next time.

Yeah he never charged me back either for some reason. Thought for sure he would since he had paid out ~$280.

OT: I know it seems like common sense that being legit will make you more money in the long run, but a lot of these scammers don't have the patience for that. They see a scam quit as an easy way to make a quick buck.

 

I guess. I just don't see the logic when I obviously will recover the money, and they will get banned. Sigh

 

Even if 90% of sythe users are imbeciles, scammers are even more stupid so they are trying their luck even with chargeback able payment methods.

 

If you get more personal info on them during the trade it's very easy to find everything about them. Including family. I have in the past had a lil shit charge back me after selling an RS account. I had an interesting conversation with his mom, got my account and his money still, and bonus he was screwed and I got to hear his ass get chewed on the phone.

Same can go for teens and adults that do it you just have to do another method. you just can't call their mommy lol, but you can make their life hell.

 

Hahaha that's hilarious. I wish I got more info. Unfortunately I trust people too much, being much more cautious now.

 

Scammers are scammers, Quite frankly I've met people who actually needed $25 or $50 to pay for food/bills though.


But I 100% agree that most scammers are just low-lifes or young teens who are dumb and stupid .

 

Some of you also need to realise that alot of sythe users are fucking stupid. look in RAS and you'll see threads of people getting scammed by imposters of arcus, r2, or whoever they went first to without requesting a pm in a 600$ trade. lold.

 

i got scammed 10$ lol by a 5$ donor thats silly nice 2$ profit
