Give me some recommendations

I'm looking for some free or cheap games to play as a nice break from the big titles. Under $15 would be good, but I'd prefer free. Indie games could be cool if they have unique elements. I don't want something that's pay to win or microtransactions pushed at you. Something you can jump right into and enjoy.

I know its a tall order but I'm sure you guys can give me some ideas

edit: And things that are single player and torrentable are fine as well.

 

Have you played the Far cry series?

 

Kongregate is a site I used to spend a ton of time on, if you're into flash games.

 

tomb raider, batman series. amnesia series, metro series.

the old total war games are a few bucks on steam, Medieval 2 is the best if you like the genre.

 

Console? PC? Quite a lot of options.

You could try God of War if you have Playstation systems. You can buy the first 3 for like 30$ total or something.

Far Cry is a real good game, Batman series that recently came out for the past couple of years, some classic GameCube games are always fun.
