Biggest Letdown In Gaming

What was your biggest letdown in gaming? Mine was with Watch Dogs on Pc I thought it would look like the E3 2012 footage but boy was I wrong the game was terribly optimized on Pc and always had problems with fps dropping whenever I drove etc. Also the graphics were completely trash to what was shown before.

 

Every next gen title so far.
Destiny especially.

 

Really? Why Destiny I have only heard good things about it and I was planning on getting it when my Xbox One arrives.

 

Don't agree with this at all..

Destiny is so much fun. It's just a total grind 1-20 but after that it actually gets challenging and fun to play with friends. Totally worth it.

My biggest letdown would have to be Halo 4 honestly. Didn't even finish it.

 

Probably COD MW3. Horrible game in my opinion lol

 

Watch Dogs looked incredible but I heard that it was absolute shit (and the Steam reviews on release were all complaints). Destiny seems to be a favourite among players along with Titanfall. Otherwise, I haven't heard much. There was a lot of hype about the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (of course) but I haven't heard anything about it as of yet.

Sleeping Dogs is a really good game but I was disappointed at the length. The Battlefield series is definitely one of my favourites, but nothing will ever compare to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (especially the Vietnam expansion pack); BF3 was alright, and I'm not a fan of BF4 at all.

Halo: Reach

The game responsible for breaking up MLG & Halo, disgracing the Halo franchise, etc.

Halo 4

Did not take into account an overwhelmingly large (and negative) response from gamers (especially those at the competitive level) about Halo: Reach. Nail in the coffin.

 

I bought the game launch day. Started out very slow/repetitive. Everyone said it got better after level 20 so I wasted my time, still the game was nothing special. Everyone I know either sold it already or doesn't play it anymore.

 

ROME 2 total war. the first one will always be one of my favourite games, and i waited like 10 years for the sequal and it was a terrible clunky let down.

shogun 2 was a bit of disappointment as well
Just praying for a medieval 3 total war and that it is glorious.

 

Second. Rome TTW2

 

my biggest let down was EOC, mostly when they took out free trade/pking. unreal

 

IMO, Saints Row 4 and EoC. Saints row 4 died in like a week.

 

Watchdogs on Xbox One was a let down overall.

Gta V was a let down. The game overall was very nice, aside from the new driving mechanics, and it was just too easy to complete. It just didn't live up to the hype for me. I no-lifed it the weekend it came out and beat it. It was great fun, just not what I expected. And the online play... That's what was really horrible.

 

Halo multiplayer after H3 :'c

 

RS3's introduction was a massive let down aswell. ruined what was likely my favourite game ever.

 

I'm still on the fence with my ruling of AW but I've heard generally positive things so far. The true test will be if people are still playing it a month or two down the line.

I feel like a lot of big games get way over-hyped. Despite them being great games a lot of the time the hype makes them seem kinda average unfortunately.



Maybe the biggest letdown for me is how the Final Fantasy franchise has turned out. They were my favorite games back in the day but I can't even play any of the new ones (11 on-wards)

 

The whole "new generation" of gaming. It sucks.

 

Runescape turning from original into rs2 into eoc.

All of these games are shit. CoDs, Battlefields, Halos, even most PC titles. I don't mind some single-player games, but eveything else just blows anymore.
