Just saw Annabelle

I just watched Annabelle today and it got me thinking do you guys believe in ghosts/demons? Why or why not? I did some digging in Ed Warren (The guy from The Conjuring) it turns out he and his wife did over 2000+ cases regarding stuff like this and the Annabelle doll is actually a real doll in their museum now which is full of items from cases they worked on. Also the family from The Conjuring was also interviewed and they told their story of what happened. So even with "proof" like this do you believe their is such a thing or is it just a hoax?

Could you explain why? Looking to get peoples opinions with reason.

I don't see any "proof". All I see are claims. Why would I believe in it when I and everyone I know hasn't experienced anything supernatural? Because people claims to? People that benefits from it?

 

It's big bucks movies, they twist the story and derive it from something small, that was made popular

 

Have you ever experienced nuclear fusion? Or seen an electron? By that arguing, you have to throw out a lot of scientific "facts"

 

Except that isn't the argument now is it? Thats a pretty stupid argument to even make. Scientists can make really good predictions about electrons because there are rules how electrons behave under certain circumstances. Can you say the same about this topic?

If you'd like to have an argument about science, please go and make your own thread. I don't possess much knowledge in science, but I could immediately tell that you're just throwing bullshit at a certain sentence I made rather than addressing the post as a whole.

 

No I don't believe in ghost,demons,Easter Bunny,unicorns,Santa (this list is very long). If you are in doubt then i advice lisening to this audiobook. It gives an accurate description why anything "magical" can't really excist in our world. It's a 2 hour long video but it's worth it.

Science is proven by theories, Ghosts/Spirits and what not are only proven through claims, personal experiences, etc. Most of the people who claim that ghosts are real and what not are not really reliable/trusted. I'm pretty sure everyone believes in science lol, so I don't think comparing it with ghosts is really the best example.

All of these opinions have to do with faith. Do you have faith in the unseen? Then yes. Do you not have faith in the unseen? Then no.

 

Indeed I do, I actually encountered a real life ghost experience.

I get a kick out of those movies, the feeling right after of being scared of everything is great but it usually dies down by the next day.

 

I think you're simplifying this too much. A lot of people who make claims of paranormal incidents truly believe they happened. If someone genuinely believes in something doesn't that make it just about as real as anything else?

 

In my religion, it happens time to time. People infest dolls with spirit to disturb people they do not like and such. As a matter of fact, I believe that spirits like these and demons do exist. Just that, only in the human eyes it is not capable of being seen.

 

On Friday, as we were laying down for bed, I heard the sound of a child running from one side of the attic bedroom to the other. We have no children, but I have younger siblings and remember the sound well. When I heard it, I turned to my girlfriend and she just nodded, looking at the ceiling . If we lived in an apartment, I could easily rationalize the noise
It went on for about 10 mins...to which I fell asleep around that time. I woke up at 3am for school, and there was no sounds at all.

 

Saw the movie myself, it wasn't that great as I thought it would of been.

 

I believe in Purgatory, if that's what is being asked. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not there. There are just some people who have to 'Experience it to believe it' because something scary like that is pretty hard to take in if you think about it , lol.
And yes, I believe the movie was actually based on a true story and there was actually a documentary about it.

 

Dolls creep me the hell out. I wouldn't say I disbelieve in ghosts, spirits, demons, etc. but I find it hard to trust. I normally don't fuss over things that we, as humans, can't see or prove mostly because I believe fully that we just don't have the knowledge to understand. With that said, I just hope nothing spooky happens to me in my lifetime if it's at all possible!
