How can i check if im being ddosed

I keep loosing internet connection every night, in intervals. For example every 20 minutes i will loose connection. I even check with my isp and they said they cant fix it.

 

change your ip address. unplug your router for about a few mins. (this might change your IP not 100%). or use a VPN and see if you get shut out during those time you usually get shout out. if they don't have your new IP they can't ddos you

 

Could just be faulty modem etc.. Mine was cutting out every 5-10 mins posted on here and got advice found out my ethernet cable was stuffed.

 

Do you have reason to believe that you're being ddosed over the more likely explanation being that your connection is just bad? Try an ethernet cable, try unplugging your router for 10 minutes and plugging it back in, then get back to us

 

Do you lose connection for the same amount of time every time (for example, 5 minutes)? Or is it the downtime completely random?

 

It's much more likely that something else is happening. You should look for the IP address that you need to access your modem and perhaps check any error logs. Or just look at your modem directly whenever your Internet goes out and see what happens.

Highly doubt anyone would waste their time ddosing someone over and over again. It must be something to do with your connection so make sure everything is fine and if that doesn't fix it then I'd suggest changing your ISP.

I have had a similar problem but it was caused by a faulty equipment, signal cable for my modem had gone bad and was causing the issues.

In near all of the cases where someone says they can DDOS, they actually cant. It requires quite some resources which most people dont have and these resources are not publicly available. I honestly think that DDOS attacks are only happening against huge websites and services, and not against single pc's like yours and mine. I dont have anything to prove it but all these toddlers claim they can unleash a packet atom bomb.

Its a router problem I believe. It happened to me too but they solved it when I called them saying that I wont pay them.if this keeps happening.

 

Call up your isp and ask why you are constantly getting disconnected. If they say it isn't a problem from their end, its either a problem with your router, or you're getting ddosed. I believe you can troubleshoot from there

 

If i know for a fact I'm being DDoSed how can I check?

 

One thing you can do is secure your Skype by using a proxy.




after you've done that unplug your router/modem over night and hopefully your IP Address resets.
