Using Paypal for sythe trades / safe?

Yes its a general question but ill be more specific here. When paypal performs their monthly or weekly checks on random accounts to detect 'suspicious' activity on transactions, do they contact the paypal user to see what that specific transaction was all about so for example, one purchases 10m via paypal. It's also got the note 'virtual goods' on it so the seller of the gold is protected in case of a chargeback. If you havent noticed many will insist you write the note otherwise theyll refund you the payment. Does such a note raise suspicion to paypal? If you have experienced anything let me know. You can never be too paranoid with paypal, it seems (no surprise) that they are a step ahead in almost every case.

so the seller of the gold is protected in case of a chargeback - writing notes doesn't do anything to protect the seller, this is a stupid myth

First off Paypal screens every transaction using automated systems at the time of payment - it's not a daily or weekly thing. The note doesn't raise any suspicions because you're not doing anything illegal. It's simply a trade for goods that don't require physical shipping (which is the point of the note).

A verified PayPal account doesn't mean they can't chargeback. It would always be safer for you to use a more "reliable" payment method as stated above.

 

If you want the short answer: No.

Starting out use something safer with no chargebacks til you've familiarised yourself with the site, customers, etc

If you're accepting Paypal, always limit the maximum amount that you're willing to accept from a single person - it's better to do 10x $50 trades than 1x $500 trade.

Also, make sure you account for the fact that some of your customers may be illegitimate and calculate the potential loss from that into your prices.

I have been lucky so far that I haven't really had any huge chargebacks ever since I follow the aforementioned safety techniques, but there are many sellers who have not been as fortunate and have lost huge amounts.

honestly, its usually safe to trade with someone who has hundreds of vouches.

 

Or just don't take paypal and avoid that risk
