New J-Mod

Jagex hired Chris Archie to be a new J-Mod.

If you didn't know, Chris Archie is one of the most well known Youtubers. He produced many videos and has many subscribers.

What do you guys think of Jagex hiring former Youtubers to become J-mods?

I personally like the idea just because these guys know what the community wants and can help other J-Mods see what the community needs/wants.

 

I think it's a good idea to hire people who really know what the community is after like streamers and youtubers, however many of them have a questionable past and it's strange how people who broke the in game rules are being promoted to staff positions.

I know that chris archie sold shoutouts for all sorts of things, and that may have been part of his past but you con't forget it. However I think he will be successful at maintaining the community of runescape.

Lol Chris. You might wanna reword that or rethink that. J-Mods are staff. They are just called J-Mods for the sake of the names. They have legit titles like "Development Engineer" and stuff like that.

I didn't know the exact circumstances under which he was hired, now I do.
Either way I don't think Chris has much to offer aside from his subscriber base soooo

 

I don't think he's the greatest choice but I guess he deserves a chance

 

I feel like he does know what the community wants and that's always good to get into a higher ranked staffing hierarchy.

 

To me it's definitely great as we get more divergent views especially since these youtubers are players themselves and know what the community ultimately wants. Also this might motivate more players to join as well

 

As long as sparc mac doesn't become a j mod i'm good.

 

In the end it should hopefully pan out as he would want his reputation with the community to be good so he will listen to the people, might create some problems with the other staff though

 

Why? He is awesome, he streams dialy and make vids to keep the 07 community alive, he would 100% deserve J Mod in my opinion. But im not sure how the chances are to become one if one of your accounts is banned for bug abusing.

It's a good thing in my eyes to hire people that interacts with the community, such as popular youtubers.
Already a few ones, like Runeshark and Ml gudi.
