Online Filter

Chances are this has been requested in the past, so I apologize if it has. A filter that makes it only show threads from users that are online, so people that are looking for quicker trades can see who is readily available. Would that be possible to create?

 

Actually, sounds like a good idea. Though the site doesn't really have many immediate trades where the prices are that different to need a certain user.

 

Yeah good idea but a lot of the time people are on Skype to trade but are not on Sythe. So online/offline isn't a real indicator to who's actually trading. Original posters are not always the ones trading too, often they'll be offline but one of their 4 workers will be online.

 

Good idea but it should be based on being online on Skype rather than on Sythe.

This should only be for the market section if its added and maybe with some exceptions for example.
It still shows the threads of users if they've logged in once in the last 30mins but then again I don't think many marketers will like this because they trade on many websites and can't keep logged on one for a long time just so their thread is shown.

 

Govind would know. He's the SQL dude. It would be a mod but it may be easy to do but it might be hard on the server.

 

There was a similar suggestion earlier that had people's online buttons (green or gray) on section pages, so you could see which OP was online or not

That would be fairly easy and fine too.

 

If feasible, I wouldn't mind seeing this. It's not a bad idea...

 

If it's not too hard to add, sure why not.

However, it's not that tough to click on the thread, see if OP has the green dot next to name and then click the back button to check other threads.

 

So you'd have to be on Sythe every 20 minutes to be visible? Or X amount of time if changed..

Nah, bumping essentially does this job

 

The thing is, a lot of people will Bump their thread then just browse sythe aimlessly while they wait for someone to contact them.

It's really not a bad suggestion if easily implemented.

 

The problem is that ull have people doing autoclick to stay online. People in market does not want to go every 30 min on sythe to be online and show ure ready to trade. Often, they are online on skype but offline on sythe as said before.

However, it is a great idea if we can do something about this. Help the people in the market.


**** NOTE : if you do this filter, would ALL the threads in the section, where the person is online, show up? Lol it would have to be Online + Most recent post to avoid this

 

If this is added (which I'm for, I guess...), what's to prevent people from setting up auto-clickers to keep themselves "online" all the time?

This isnt a problem. Sythe will make him offline after 30 mins. The problem is when he is autoclicking to stay online

 

Like the idea but as others have said they might be on Skype or workers might be on instead.
