Vouch Rule / Quality Of Users

Vouching is honestly a hassle and vouching for non worthy people would be a problem. It's basically like a gift.

 

I agree that a review would be good, but not a vouch. They are not trusting you with anything and you should just get free reputation

 

Its a free market and will stay that way forever. If you want to vouch you do, and if you dont then you dont have to.

 

Ask is different than require.

Vouching is a form of feedback, you cannot expect the site to enforce a penalty against people who do not wish to leave feedback.

 

I was never asked to vouch. It was more of a direct command, but I don't think anything of it because it takes less than 5 seconds to do.

Part of the reason is to stop people from "selling" things in return for vouches. We want to discourage people from easily farming them, which used to be a large problem. This would entail doing something stupid easy and quick in return for a vouch. Do that for a few days and they would get a shit ton of vouches that were generally worthless but people would see the number, trade them and get scammed.

 

Like selling runescape bonds? I could sell a plethora of bonds for the best price breaking even just to get quick vouches. What's wrong with trying to build your trust?
