Charging back a scammer that did not scam you.

I was wondering if for example a person ended up scamming someone and got banned but that same person conducted a successful trade with you, are you allowed to chargeback the money you paid (if via PP) to the now scammer and use it to pay back the person who lost money to the scammer or even use it for yourself so now the scammer has less money in their possession?

I believe this is a good thing and if an admin allows this then yes, you can.

I believe an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. I doubt staff would allow you as that"ll just complicate things. Staff and staff only should deal with scam reports.

I don't think revenge scamming is ideal as it still constitutes as scamming no matter where the money goes to.

If you were to chargeback and use the money you got back to return to the person who got scammed, then I would say you are just helping the person who got scammed. However if you chargeback just because you think a scammer doesn't deserve the money, then I would say you are scamming as well.

    The act alone is scamming.

Ok if u use it to pay back the others who got scammed (if approved by mod) but no if u chargeback for u and just because hes a scammer. It makes you a scammer as well.

That sounds pretty good. I'd like if a mod/admin can confirm this since I have a few transactions with people who scammed others and was wondering if I could try to use it to pay victims back.

Referring to the people who said that charge backing someone who scammed makes you a scammer too. Well i've seen several times in reports that admins/mods agree to do so just because the scammer stole a big amount of cash so.. You should of really talk about this and report it in the RASC section to see if they allow it or not.

Just because a staff member approves the action, doesn't mean it's not scamming.

No pretty sure that isn't allowed. This is scamming as stated above.

Not quite sure why some think this is acceptable

Im sure they accept to pay back the victims. Not to keep the money...

For example, u just recently purchased 2b eoc from this person for 1000$. He turns out to scam someone else and hes banned.

If u chargeback the 1000$, u will still have 2b eoc. Its considered scamming.

Contact a staff menber so they can check the money is going to scam victims and make sure they update the scam report to say who's received how much.
