It seems more like an individual preference/request rather than something we can implement as a rule or procedure

If you really look into it, it does secure both the buyer and the middleman. It can always be used as a request/preference of course, but how I look at it the player would likely feel safer using this method.

I tried this method when buying an account off a person through p/a and it lead to long term problems with the account getting locked.

New Safer Way to Trade RuneScape Accounts?

You know that IF the seller wants to recover the account he doesn't need the email attached to the account right? He can simple send an email to jagex saying he got hacked and they will reset everything for him( if he sends it from creation IP ofcourse) and gives some information. It would make it a bit safer though I think but will be hard to force people to use this method, however it could be recommended to use.

Successfully trading a runescape account is not a problem. It's what happens after the trade which causes such a big fuss.

New Safer Way to Trade RuneScape Accounts?

Exactly. Nothing prevents people from recovering the gmail account or requesting it be locked and then recovering the rs account. This is just an unnecessary hassle, but if you want to do your account trades this way, there's nothing stopping you. I've never had an issue just changing the email for people; you might argue that if you have to use a MM for an account trade because you don't trust the other party, you shouldn't be buying the account in the first place.

    This and this.

there's also no way we can "force" users to trade this way. therfore a suggestion like this dosent really have any value.

Sorry, OP, but this method is not effective whatsoever. Jagex will still award someone their account back as long as they can provide the details which an original owner will know simply off the top of his or her head.

Original Ip trumps all, the original owner can always recover the acc, so your method won't work.

New Safer Way to Trade RuneScape Accounts?

The only safe way to do an account trade is to buy an account off someone that you trust or to pay the person in something that can be reversed the same way that the rs account can, that way if they recover the account on you, you can recover the money.

Everyone has there own way of trading accounts, I dont think there should be a forced rule on how they should do it.
