Back from 2 years

hey guys I had a few questions. I haven't played runescape in about 2 years. I logged on today and of course nothing is the same.

I wanted to get some opinions.

currently my account has 95 herp, 95 pray, 99 str, 92 att, 89 def on Rs3. He also has a lot of other stats.

Long story short I HATE this new runescape. However I wanted to get some opinions as to if have the chaotic weapons are still as good as they used to be, and do the stats above make my account viable?

Not trying to sell my account in the general thread, but I'd love to just swap it for an Oldschool Main Rs account. Just want opinions, How does my account look in today's standpoint?

 

rs3 mains are useless, you wont be able to get a swap

best would just beto start over fresh in 07

 

Thanks for the quick response. How is oldschool rs? Is it honestly any different than it was back then? For example faster leveling or anything like that? Or is it almost copy and paste.

 

for the most part its copy paste, they've impletmented a bunch of updates based off what the players want. I'd personally dive right into it and learn again, thats the fun of the game

 

You're right it is. I have had my main RS account since about 2003 however. Just seems kind of unfortunate that I'll have to start over, but hey, I guess that's what everyone else had to do, right?

 

OSRS is great, well balanced and the community is engaging. The updates are community based, and voted upon. The switch is well worth it.

RS3 is dead as far as content is concerned.

 

Thats not true RS3 releases a lot more content regularly compared to OSRS. You should just try both and see what you like.

 

I would say to start fresh on 07 as that acc will prob not get u much. Rs3 has a lot of new updates but if ur looking for similar options to the past 07 is it

 

Can I play rs3 without the combat update lol? Cause I cannot stand it. Are my chaotics even good anymore

 

Log into a legacy world in Rs3, its the same as it used to be .

 

You should continue playing via Legacy mode.

Have you tried legacy? I would try that before going to oldschool.

 

I advise only using legacy for for recreation like bossing or skilling activities. Combat exp is much better using abilities on EoC.

 

They release a lot of DEAD content that is.

Most minigames dead content.

Most slayer monsters dead content.

Even some bosses are dead content.

I wish this weren't the case, but it's true. I bet Araxxor will even be dead content within a year.

 

Pretty sure most people play OSRS over RS3. I personally haven't tried out Legacy but I havent heard a lot of bad things. If you dont like how RS3 just by logging, chances are you wont get very much into it.

 

It's all about what you prefer to be honest. They are pretty much the same except 07 is very barebones with not as much content.

 

One thing that was always hampered my ability to jump into other MMOs is not knowing the full extent of the game. I loved Rs3 (rs2) at the time, even back when it was like 2009 or 2011. I don't know, I loved that runescape. However just the way it is now I feel left behind. With OSRS I know everything as far as what is best and what it takes. From watching streams I get so excited to play it again. The only thing that's going to get me is I don't know where all the hangout spots are now. E.X. where people sell their fish all that. I don't know, I tried legacy but OSRS is definetly the way to go for me.

 

Yeah bud, go OSRS. You can always continue your file in RS3 whenever you feel like it.

You'll know pretty much everything there is you need to know in 07. The community is pretty tight-knit, it won't be hard to find friends and talk at your normal training spots such as Catherby for Lobsters or Seers for Yews + magics.

You'll enjoy it a lot. And if you ever need help just post another thread, there are a lot of experienced Runescape 07 players here.

 

Definitely swap it for a good 07 account, you can make that happen easily in todays market.
