Evidence against Leanbean

Well, there is a large discussion going on, but the individual ideas aren't organized anywhere so they can be reviewed. This section could use some activity, so I'll post it here.

Leanbean claims to have been hacked and Honest Iago was scammed for $2,000 in Moneypak.

1. The "hacker" messaged Honest Iago at roughly 4 PM to get his MP, the scam occured at roughly 5 PM, and he spammed everyone at 5:15 PM to ask to buy gold/MP and then signed off after sending two messages to all online contacts. [1][2]
2. This scam happened exactly 1 month after Leanbean reached his Paypal limit for redeeming MP cards (which resets after 1 month). [1]
3. Leanbean has admitted to using another Paypal account, or trying to.
4. Leanbean claims that the hacker knew to target Honest Iago because of the contact group "Moneypak" on his Skype. That's the only way he'd know that this guy had MP. Leanbean didn't account for the fact that contact groups are not transferred between computers, you only see your own on your computer.
5. After this initial scam, the "hacker" has not logged back on and tried to make any more money.
6. Leanbean claims that he has no proof of the hacking because he didn't use a real e-mail address when making the Skype, so never got an e-mail about the password being reset.

Work in progress and adding evidence, but posting early so that it can be posted on and more evidence added.

How about the fact that he doesn't have access to the original email he signed up to the Skype with? That would prove that his shit was changed, a little too convenient of a scenario that he has no access.

A hacker would have messaged everyone right off the bat to make the most money.

That fact that he's a Global and apparently doesn't have access to this does start to make things look a little odd in my eyes.

That makes it partially obvious to people that his skype has been hacked. How many moderators do you know that send out mass messaages?

yea tbh it looks quite sketchy to me. When i made my skype i saved everything about it on my computer, and lean has been in market for a while so i guess he knows how stuff goes...

The fact that he is a moderator and know every single rule of sythe makes him able to pull scams like this without punishment

No offense to WhoNeedsAChaser who redeemed the moneypack but trusting a $50 donor with 400 posts with $2300 shows that he is way too trusting of people. If an intelligent scammer saw this thread they would see they could steal a huge amount by posing as someone redeeming a MP.

 

Message logs are saved on personal computers. You can not view previous messages that where discussed at a prior date on a different computer.

The only way to do so is if the user was ratted (which didn't happen) or got access to his computer.(yeah, no.)

 

Actually Skype will download some past chat logs if you login to a new computer, only a very recent batch though.

 

Wtf do you mean guaranteed thousand dollars dude? It's not as if peoples Skypes get hacked in 10 seconds. What the fuck kind of backwards ass hacker would target LEANBEAN of all people, DIG UP SOME RANDOM TRADE, and know exactly who to message for the best moneypaks when Honest doesn't even share his Skype with anyone. It's not some easy cash, it would take a lot of work to orchestrate this for a measly 2 grand. No, this is Lean taking advantage of the fact the guy didn't PM and grabbing the cash spur of the moment.

People are discrediting their own arguments by just trash talking each other. That doesn't help. Try to be rational and mature about discussing the matter at hand rather than attacking people and flaming.

These discussions only help when they don't turn in to a flame fest.

Can you check my scam report. According to rules it doesn't specify when only if. Thus Leanbean901 should be banned.

 

Why are you even letting people talk about an open scam report? Seems like it should be none of our business unless there is unfair treatment or a shitty verdict.

 

Not commenting on this all that much but when I switched to my newest computer around 75% of my chat logs from the last week or so came with me. Just commenting on my experience on the matter.
