I'm holding a grudge because I feel that this whole thing reeks of bullshit, and I'm trying to prove in ways I can. Which is essentially none. The staff apparently seem fine with just calling it "hacked" and leaving it alone. Whether or not he was, this whole thing needs closer examination, which I hope my thread will bring. The main thing I was looking for was exposure, not trying to crack the case myself. From what I've heard from somebody the truth will come out tomorrow so I guess we'll see. I feel that the exposure is enough, not going to try to explain more stuff that I don't know nor care to find out.

They do, often. In fact both people you mentioned have been hacked dozens of times. Including their sites and live chats. Educate yourself.

Skype's security is garbage. There is no "hacking" involved in hijacking a skype. Its social engineering and its a very common thing l. I agree a different service should be used. But seriously, look at leans vouches from that user. He could of gotten the very same guy for 3500. Why would a "scammer" knowingly settle for less??

He's talking about the guy who hacked my skype.

The trade that was vouched for $3,500 he actually sent me $3,700 worth of codes but I could only redeem $3,500 worth at the time so I left the other $200 alone and he had Ziggily redeem the rest. Don't try and twist things to make me seem like a bad guy because you don't know anything about me or what type of person I am.

This isn't a problem that is staff exclusive, large gold trader's skypes are "hacked", real or not, all the time. However, there isn't a way to prevent having your Skype hacked, staff or not. If the user had requested a PM, then the whole situation wouldn't have happened.

Lean just said the $3500 trade was vouched for. Look at them then.

Id say atleast 50% of the website including myself. You are outright attacking him at this point. I mean I dont KNOW if he did it or not, but you are certainly not making any sort of case against him. Infact you are just assuring all of us that you know little to nothing about how any of this shit works.

At the end of the day, I appreciate what KOED is doing and everyone else should as well. The one person that should be doing this amount of digging into the matter is leanbean. I cringe to think of the other users that may have gotten hit by the skype hacking. All in all it is a sketchy situation. As a mod, if you know skype hackings are common then why on Earth are you dealing with skype. Rs2pleasent uses live chat because he is in a position of trust and knows skype hacks happen. That is the type of initiative a mod should have.

You're just blindly pointing the finger without having any actual knowledge of how common Skype hackings occur, or any real idea about Lean himself. That's not helping your case.

If you want to suggest reform, a new rule, some harsher punishment, do it accordingly without bias, and with educated responses.

For the record I spoke with leanbean on skype on the 17th, so it is not like a full month passed by. He had access on the 17th.

Was my response not educated? If there is an obvious flaw with the skype system then shouldn't mods be propagating against it? If skype hackings are so common shouldn't there be a sticky of some sort or at the very least shouldn't mods not be using it? Hell I could trade with you receive a PM and 5 mins later your skype gets hacked mid trade.

Don't see how this happened. I'm sure I've seen users banned in the past if their skype gets hacked and someone scams. I read it on one of the reports that you are responsible for your own skype, so why was this not the case?

    Sorry if i'm slightly misinformed.

That's an interesting point. I think if my Skype was labeled on my profile and someone were to trade with it, if I alleged that it was hacked, then you guys would ban me without a doubt and force me to repay the payment. But I guess we have to take into account that admins/mods know eachother fairly well and understand that you can't always do that. Hell, someone could hack his skype, scam themselves for $2000 and then ask for a $2000 repayment. :0 The implications would be CraZaZy!!

I haven't completely filled myself in on what's happened here, but generally when these type of socially engineered customer support attacks happen there's some sort of message delivered to the registered email of the skype account. Similar to what Nytrix, Superfluos and Vegeta, and some other users have been dealing with with regards to unauthorized customer support attempts, and other Skype related sign-in issues. It's HIGHLY unusual for someone to obtain access to a skype account in a single attempt. If it did happen there was an immense amount of luck, but it would likely be due to a low level of security, if anything.

Im assuming Leanbeans Email wasn't hacked since he hasn't mentioned that, maybe there are some emails to back up what has happened?

If there was a breach of security in which Skype support was at fault, why should Leanbean be forced to take punishment? The situation was completely out of his hands, and it would have been unpreventable with any reasonable security measures on his end. I just think that additional proof "SHOULD" be accessible via his email account that was registered to his skype, as those email are automated for password/sign-in changes.

Because there was nothing more to be said. I pointed out what I thought was wrong and that's all I wanted to do. It's not my job to single handedly investigate what really went on here, just wanted to bring some attention to a sketchy situation.
