Hey guys, my name is Lindsey. I'm current 14 1/2 and under working laws where i live. I need to achieve $650. I've already made $150 from selling my steam account and doing some Lua jobs. Im up for learning/dedicating to do anything. I need suggestions! > what do you do to make money?

Wow, people don't mind throwing deregotary things your way! You could focus on flipping gold or items and building up your vouch portfolio.

 

OT: Flipping gold is probably the most profitable for someone in your position. Try to buy low and sell high though offer better rates than the major goldsellers.

I work for ERP company called Netsis as Sales Manager. Used to be a Project Leader but switched departments.

 

maybe help in a groceries store or get a papers round, i used to do those kind of jobs at the age of 14.

 

A few little ways you can make money - lot of people will offer ideas and from these ideas you must do your own research and see the positives and negatives of each.

Swapping gold - (buy low sell high concept) //

Issue: Need an investment - your own gold been sold at a premium rate to fund your new business or money of your own to buy gold.

Your going to run into issues buying the gold as your a new person people are not going to be willing to go first to trade there gold for your money. They will want you go first and then they may scam you (there are guides out there to reduce the risk of been scammed <check around here and on the forums>

If you manage to get some gold you then will have to find buyers which is the easier part if you follow the guide about how to reduce been scammed it will have a whole section on charge backs etc by using PayPal. Take in consideration fees etc when selling your gold, do not go first unless you trust them. This can be if they are a mod or a trusted Sythe user. Another way to reduce been scammed is to source gold at a good price and sell to IRL people at your school for a small profit, even if you do a 10% mark up you will be making money.

Pros: Not a huge amount of money is needed to start of and the risk is minimal - the chances of been banned compared to bot farming is minimal. As gold is hard to obtain (bots been banned very quickly) doing these trades at 10-15% profit on your part will soon make a nice little income which you can then invest into other areas (below)

Questing (for RSGP or IRL money )

If you love to quest or can simply just grind it out this is a great way of doing a service for money - some quests take 30mins some 3+ hrs. Check out what people are currently charging and do not undercut - charge the same. Set up a table of those 10-15 quests every body hates but are needed for a "mint" pure/main when some one posts on your thread offer them a discount - you could offer to do a few for free however you will just get flooded with people who will use you once and will not use you again. People who are serious about making a great account are willing to pay. And if you hold out and get active you will get one customer and if that person vouchs and you did a great service you will get more - its a waiting game.

Cons: a lot of people can do this there is no real start ups needed besides from having access to a pc and a quest guide and patience.

Pros- if you become a known Quester you can do accounts and invest your money from this into buying other items such as quest kits which will only cost you 100k to buy items which are scattered all over RS but are needed in long quests - people are lazy and dont want to collect beads etc or chochlate bars and would rather buy a quest pack (on forums like this or on rs forums) you then do a huge mark up and you can do this mutiple times a day in some cases (without GE this is a great way of doing runs to obtain money even though it is small it can all add up)

Skills such as farming can be put in with you item gathering - hourly or daily and you can farm a good amount items which are always on demand. Stick with it and do just herbs/profitable items and if you stick with it 99 herby


Doing a mixture of in game gathering and sythe based business, you can make some money. Take into consideration your using power and your time with some forms of money making (gold farming for example - if you have all your home pcs botting for 24/7 your smashing a fair chunk of power which may not cost you money if your parents are paying the bills but should be put into your consideration)

A few more little ideas - very quickly:

botting - great way to make money / high ban rate atm and if you start lossing accounts it can cost you.

name selling - I personally do not do it -

selling accounts - to much time consumption - imo would rather just doing quest for people.

Swaping EOC/OSRS - gp Do your math right and find the right prices you can do nice small flips in your favour.



These are just a few things I can think of - I normally do not post much and this was only ment to be a few lines not 2 paragraphs (had a long download so - meh)

- Last thing, for IRL making money use facebook buy and sell sites - try to buy items you know for cheap and then sell on specialty sites. I purchases a unfelted 3 piece pool table for $40. - I then sold it on a facebook page where people are always looking for random things and sold it for $240. Try to buy items you can use or have a good knowledge. Example - I see some one selling old barrels (oil barrels) and he wants $20 for each barrel - (it is winter here in Australia) I know I can probably get the barrelt for if has few dents in it for $15 and haggle him down. My brother wants a fire pit as it is cold and having drinks out near a fire is a great way to pass time with friends. So I buy the barrel cut it in half and do some small welds on the bottom and make some legs - an easy fire pit (google on line really easy if you have the time and have the tools or know some one willing to show you) you spend a futher $10 on iron for feet so your in $25 dollars and you got left overs (a half and more iron for feet) so you make another one.

Instead of throwing it out you make it and put it on gumtree/ebay other sites for selling or facebook sites for stuff. You put $50 on it - knowing if some one comes around you can realistically take $40-45 without an issue. Your brother may even love his fire pit and give you $30 for your time. So your time has given $40 - $70 take cost of item worst case scenario you make $25 - $45.

This is just an example of seen a need - using current condition and going towards your market.

Last words of advice: Always read the guides on here for advice on not how to be scammed, always ask for a pm, if it feels sus get out of there, if it sounds to good to be true - it probally is. And 99% of time get rich quick is a scam - you must put effort into everything - if not then every body would be rollong around in a Bentley. And finally Always do your maths - and as they say measure twice cut once.

 

This. Do jobs that will let you work under the legal age.

Babysitting, mowing lawns, and washing cars are good examples. If you have a golf course near you, you could get a job as a caddy. I was able to start caddying at 13 and it was a great first job.
