Could Legacy Mode be voted out of implementation?

this and heh, no matter if it gets through... it will be just like EOC so hmm will be just as dead. I won't be playing it...

 

Some people want their stats, items, and the content of RS 3 just with a different type of combat. I don't blame people for that.

Legacy barely interferes with EoC, especially since they reverted the armor changes and such.

Legacy may not be Pre-EoC but it is definitely more relaxing and less daunting than EoC.

I will continue to use Revolution but am fine with Legacy coming into the game.

 

Bump. Legacy vote is dominating in the Yes vote so far.

Shows me the game voters outweigh the official forum opinion (not surprising people go to the official forum to complain 95 percent of the time).


I'm happy with this. Time to skill on the old interface til they add it to EoC (which I imagine they'll offer eventually, they said they'd look into it post Legacy)

 

What annoys me is the big divide in the community that stupid shit like this causes. Ive seen many pro eoc players diss on people who want legacy saying we should stay in the past or in 07 ,but its pretty pathetic that we are in such a divide why cant it all come down to the way things used to be. my conclusion the younger generations are used to having shit handed to them rather than actually working for it. Its like vanilla wow compared to its newer counter part watered down because people cant handle it.

Couldn't agree more. Pro-Eocer's, which I truly do believe is the TRUE minority (though they deny this), are very annoying when it comes to even the most basic of debates. They'll usually always revert to the same, tired "arguments" - nostalgia this, nostalgic that, adapt or quit, whiny crybabies stuck in the past...etc.

I'm not saying pre Pre-Eocers don't do it too sometimes, but the EoC people always think that every update should be catered to them, acting like EoC was implemented into the game fairly (which it wasn't, an update that big they should have polled imo). They also act like EoC has been around forever, when it hasn't even been 2 years yet.

Also, they always say "because Jagex says x, you should know that y will never happen". Jagex has proven time and time again to be dishonest. They said free trade and wildy was never coming back - wasn't true. They said that real life money would never play a factor in your standing on runescape - Wasn't true - Bonds, microtransactons, abusing Squeal of Fortune + Treasure Hunter for myriads of bonus xp and straight up xp. They said that rares would never be introduced in tradeable form again - More lies - Fish Mask, Black Santa Hat, Cloak of Seasons, Crown of Seasons, Christmas Tree Hat, etc. etc.


Jagex does what makes them the most money. EoC is making them enough right now with the heaps of microtransactions and the added revenue from Runescape 07. But I've learned to never say never with Jagex. They said it's impossible to go back on the code set by EoC but that's just a lie to get people to think it's impossible. Do I think EoC is ever being reverted? No. I don't. Do I like EoC? It's okay. Has Jagex made tons of mistakes that ultimately damaged the health of their game? Yes, I believe so. I also believe they need to do a significantly better job actually caring about their players. Their customer support is among the worst I've ever seen, their reaction to criticism, no matter how eloquent or legitimate, is met with intense scorn if not outright sarcasm.

I agree with you though, kids are entitled, hell even in our generation they were very entitled. Now they're even more entitled, so it's not exactly a surprise that the community has gone to shit. A lot of gaming communities have gone to shit. I don't see the same vibrancy in WoW, LoL seems like a toxic community, Xbox has a ton of little twats on it...etc. etc.

 

Doubt it, the game mode is "optional".

 

They put it in poll on Monday. Last I checked it's winning 77-23 percent. So yeah it's coming.

 

I was pretty shocked when I saw that they actually added a poll.

 

It seems odd that they've already polled it, worked on it, to then risk wasting the development time to poll it again

 

I feel like they probably would have just kept tweaking the Beta + repolling it until it passed.

It's majority wins, they didn't end up making it 70.

Legacy has already won the poll. Just a formality at this point.

 

more than likely, They've put the work in, I'm sure they'd had found a way should the vote not be in favour of the release.

In regards to the split in community, the communities small enough, i don't see why people see those that wish to have/not have the legacy mode have an issue. You're given the option to decide which you want, and assuming all goes well, it won't impact on your gameplay experience should another player be using a system opposite to you.
