Could Legacy Mode be voted out of implementation?

So I was perusing the details on the Legacy Mode beta, and came across this "Once Legacy Mode has hit beta and we’ve taken on your feedback, we'll be running a poll to determine whether it should be added to the live game."

Does that then mean that the initial vote could all have been for nothing? Can Legacy mode be scrapped via a 2nd vote?

Maybe I'm misreading this, what do you guys think?

What else can you expect. Firstly they could only do rs07 and not pre-eoc/rs2 because they didnt have a saved file now they've returned legacy mode and old armour overrides.

They're full of shit and lie constantly every time.

Anyways.. what legit reason do EoC'ers have against Legacy when it wont affect them?

 

I'm not sure, but now I'm hearing it's going to need 70 percent to pass implementation. There's no way it's going to survive if that's true. There's easily 31 percent that's going to say no just to say no.

Sounds like all that dev time was pointless.

 

If free players can vote those that want it will make it happen

 

I've grown to be comfortable with EoC. Not really a huge fan of it, still, and would be pretty salty if Legacy mode was scrapped after all the hype for it and the first poll gaining landslide support.

XP rates will still be better for EoC, along with some bosses still being EoC only.

I really want Legacy to stick around- for a chance to 1: Play on the older interface which was less intensive on my archaic computer (lol), and I just liked the fixed screen more, and 2: A possible, albeit slim, chance of revitalizing PVP

Edit: Now, others think the vote is just for whether or not to keep it in beta mode until it is approved for the live gm, this seems more realistic to me (well, I hope). This is where I wish Jagex were better with their wording of things...they always leave things to interpretation, it is maddening.

 

I really want legacy mode to come back. The rs back in the day was so much better :/ but if theres a vote and need 70% and the vote is open only to members, we wont win

Here's what bugs me...the initial Legacy Mode vote won on 81 percent. It was said that the game mode wouldn't be released until people were happy with the state of the Beta. But never did they ever say anything about repolling it.

So I'm wondering if the poll is to transition it from the Beta to the Live game, as in the majority thinks its ready for implementation, or if there's actually a possibility it could get scrapped completely, which would be complete BULLSHIT in my opinion.

 

I saw the vids about legacy mode and they want all the feedbacks possible to implement the things we love so it can be perfect during live game but in my opinion, it already looked like they did a great job for implementing the old combat system and there will always be people who will say negative things so why not implement now into the live games? They worked hard for 6 months and want to do a poll again? Thats nonsense... If they lose, it will be 6 months of hard working all lost...

It could certainly be possible, if enough players don't like it. However, I think it would be an after-it's-implemented poll.

 

Yeah, I'm at the point where I'm used to no specials, don't mind abilities and so on. I do want 138 cb though.

 

I really want legacy to be released into the live game but from what I've seen there are so many people against it....

 

It would be pretty funny for them to throw out all their hardwork.

Im sure its just a "are you positive our beta is how you want it in the live game". I would be tired of making new shit to satisfy the majority while trying to make the game refreshing too. They will probably just leave it in beta and tweak it until both sides are satisfied

Im gonna vote no if it's the same it was in the livestream a month or two ago, a awful ripoff is what you can call it, not even close to pre-eoc.

 

I don't think it'd matter because it would almost definitely pass as it already has. Most EoC'ers don't care about legacy because it won't effect them. The only people who would vote "no" are trolls and newfriends.

Also remember, RS3 votes only require 50% to pass. Interesting find none the less.

 

It's that kinda vote where if it isn't going to affect your gameplay then you should vote yes for those who do want it. I dont care for it really I'm happy to continue with eoc but I'll vote yes so the community is ever-expanding and more people feel cool about playing.

The less players there are the more stupid miney-grabbing schemes they'll bring out to keep the game going.

 

Well. Recently there was a vote in 07 so pures could go back to ape atoll to get addy gloves, 60% voted no, why? It doesn't affect their gameplay? It's just to be an asshole, and i think that's sad.

 

I guess it effects pures who have defence, which puts them at a minor disadvantage.

If I'm not mistaken it's coming back regardless. It's just a matter of when it will come back. Remember when they made that biased EOC poll? Every alternative was biased towards EOC being a positive thing.

They rushed EOC and ended up releasing something that was filled with bugs and that was extremely unbalanced. And to this day Jagex are yet to fix EOC bugs that was reported in the Beta phase of EOC....

My guess is that the poll will be something like:

-Release Legacy now
-Needs more work before release.
