If you were to add up your total postcount on all of the forums you've used, what would it be?

For example - mine is:

Sythe: ~3,300
Runescape Forums: ~7,000
Dragon Dyce Forums (Legacy): ~4,000
Dragon Dyce Forums (Current): ~1,600

Total: ~16,000

 

Interesting idea.

Sythe: ~3000
Gamebattles: ~2000
Old Clan Forums: ~500
Runescape forums: ~13000
Various car forums: ~250

Total: ~18750 Posts across all my forums.

How does one rack up 5k+ on the RS forums?

 

I don't really post too much, so on a combined 4-5 forums over the years I'd say 10k-15k.

 

I mean I really have only ever been active on Sythe. My true post count here is like 18k or something like that (Govind did a query for me once).

 

I've been on a ton of forums since I was 13. From the ones I remember:

Zathyus Network Support - 2500
Sky Wave - 8700
Antiquus - 4400

Quite a few I'm forgetting I'm sure. So whatever that adds up to? 25k+

 

I imagine you've seen the HLF once or twice? With little to no rule enforcement (up until recently), it's basically the spam forum on here but posts count towards your total count, and its been that way for years

official rs forums - ~3.5k
mitb/villavu*/freddy1990/private server development - ~2k
rsforums/sythe/market sites - ~3k
apos/rsbuddy/powerbot/bot sites - ~1k
tip.it/zybez/fansites - ~300
warez-bb/projectw/warez/tracker sites - ~1k
android related - ~250
ISP related - ~500 (why I spent time on this I'll never know)
hf/kwickfix/"hack" related - ~3k

(*villavu is obviously most closely related to SRL and Scar/Simba, but I associate it moreso with mitb than modern botting sites)

Thinking back on RS related sites alone, there are quite a few that immediately come to mind. rsu, blizzind, bugabuse, ezud, kwickfix, all of which stuck around for a while before dying.

Then there are the countless others you signed up for and used for a week or so to get help with something specific, and maybe you visit them every couple years.

And finally was that period where all your friends had to have their own forum. Some took off and were somewhat successful (rsu, rsforums).. Others failed after the first month. You stuck around for that first month anyway building up post count..

In moderation they're very helpful for certain things, but the end result is obviously too much time spent on forums As I'm finishing writing this post, forums are still popping into my head lol. It's really crazy how much time most of us have spent in online communities.

There are so many more topics, and they are much more "discussion" themed than Sythe, where it is more "market" themed. The only topics that really spark a lot of discussion on Sythe concern drama-related banter. Basically, everything that would be SF goes elsewhere on the RSOF.

From my brief encounter with them it's either people really happy and praising jagex and people really mad at jagex and threatening them xD Didn't realise there was such a big community.

 

Also back in the day there was no bump button so people constantly posted "." to bump up their threads. So in the marketplace of difficult to sell items or items that people merched the crap out of such as rares, dragon bones, or runes, people posted a ton of single character posts to bump threads.

That's how I have 4.6k.

Sythe is the only forum that I can say I've used for a long period of time....

RSOF - 35k (all pre-GE, I think I was top-10 at one point) - Keep in mind that back then you had to spam the RSOF like once every 90 seconds to stay on the top page :/
