Incapability of updating sticky threads

So there are many sticky threads on Sythe created by regular users or ex-staff(who may have been staff at the time). Many of these members are either inactive, too busy or not paying attention to their sticky threads and/or updating them.

For example :

This thread has had 79k views and is rarely updated, the OP will post on it less than once a week saying "really busy right now will update when I can" now I understand that people have lives outside of Sythe but sticky threads should contain up to date information as people see them as official Sythe content so to speak.

My proposal is that the mods for each section check up on and update all sticky threads in their section even if they didn't create them.

 

Stickied threads created by users who are still active should be contacted, not staff members.

Even if the users are banned or inactive, should staff be obligated to update a thread that isn't theirs and has no effect on the market?

If you really care, take the initiative and update the thread(s) yourself by reporting it with additional information for staff members to add.

 

Yea, cant expect people to research bots to update stickies
Nominate someone to take it over or report with proposed edits

 

In the example case I have shown do you realize people have posted numerous times the information which needs to be edited in, it's a simple C+P.

 

Simply posting on the thread requesting for changes to be made isn't not sufficient. Especially on a sticky thread where it isn't very noticeable in comparison to regular ones. If you want something to be changed, pm the thread maker.

 

Then report it with the changes and the RS mod will handle it

 

What if like in my example case the OP has acknowledged the post?

What if you're the average user? You will be reading the information and not know that it's outdated. There are only a small amount of stickies per section and is it really that hard for a mod to check each sticky every few days?

 

Yes. Just report the post or contact the OP, suggest an improvement, and a mod will handle it. No one even reads the stickies...
