Well in the poll I linked, not many seem to have that problem. Just Delta had a small section, which I can understand because I had support first of all. But that's not a problem for most with OT/market/RS perms and so on.

It's not just a matter of attitude. I'll explain in depth via PM or another medium if you really want me to. But this really isn't the time/place, it's off-topic.

 

I know that many times Richard does not like people to be mods / admins other where if they are staff here. I'm not sure if that always applies but it is something to consider.

 

but pointing out their weakness overall could help, i mean isnt that why you post the modscores publicly?

Firez may come off as a dick, but firez and corey ATLEAST had strong opinions on things, and din't fall in what most of the people do on the current staff, and just wait for someone else to take charge. which is why dusputes etc sit around for so long.


i also see hardly any asking for help or wanting other staff input before making a decision, if they are unsure they just don't respond, i atleast admitted while on staff on my lack of knowledge and asked for other inputs/help multiple times.

but alas it doesnt feel like a team effort it feels like every man/woman for himself.

I know all of this, i can admit that, im not a role model, and never claimed to be one. If you want someone with his own opinions on things, and wont be swayed by emotions, im your guy, if you want someone who can just keep face, and play office to keep things looking up-to-par thats not me.

 

I just always spoke my mind and pissed people off. I didn't care. There might be some changes that could happen to pardons to fight group think but it is another discussion.

 

Yeah, it has been a struggle to keep staff as a team rather than individuals. It's mostly because some people do most of the donkey work and get aggrivated/fed up at the others and ergo, nobody weighs in or communicates how it used to be.

I agree, we need the FireZ/Corey types. But I think that kind of attitude and ability to make good decisions comes from experience and will come to people who are switched on and are on staff a while.

I think that as long as you are mature enough to know when to conform and when to be mature I have no problem with fucking around. I know I fuck around.

 

To state my opinion on those ideas:
1. I agree to an extent if they're worthy the pardon system will let them back though. Dialatic being the example with how fast he got his 5 Supports.
2. If they're worthy of it they'll get the 5 supports needed.
3. Sort of. General discussion for example is hard to really promote because often if you try and pump threads in it really lowers the quality of the posts but I see what you're saying.

 

There is definitively room for all sorts of personalities. Firez gets shit done and fucks shit up when needed.

It doesn't come off as a team effort because you guys never talk, sure you have the lil small talk etc, but its like working at a sales agency, everyone has their own cubical and set quota, and everyone is afraid to peek their head over the cubical to say hello.

 

You will need to uphold some level of professionalism in promotions anywhere you go, just because it's on a forum shouldn't change.

#1. It sucks that N4N0 has to be the decider considering his actions from now on are in spite of the situation. The users suffered enough from their mistakes.

@Delta, It's only been like that the past few months and after speaking with some other staff I really don't know what the cause of it is.

For me, personally, I'd be more motivated if we had more input/activity from Matthew and Sythe. I have a lengthy, infamous todo list in the admin lounge that doesn't even get yay/nay'd for each point. And that gets frustrating. When things get frustrating, you just don't want to do them.

Nothing I can do, been put in his hands and it's his choice what happens and how he goes about it

 

1. Not true. Alex_J_Leon's pardon was denied and archived by N4n0 with no other staff input - completely contrary to the pardon system. Hattez's pardon was about to reach the required amount of supports after a short period of time (like 1 day?) and N4n0 archived the pardon, once again, COMPLETELY ignoring the pardon process. That would be like if Trin were banned for scamming, N4n0 being the only person who said "Support" on her pardon and immediately unbanning her. IMO, the person who administers the ban should have no vote in the pardon. I'm going to get around to posting a feedback thread about it soon when I get done with my exam and such.

2. This isn't always the case (and not just in the Hattez/AJL cases). I've seen many people's genuine pardons for petty crimes be posted on by 1 person during the pardon period, just because of lack of activity/interest, probably because the shortage of mods who are having to spend their time on other things.

 

@xier0, I think he means if they're allowed to pardon properly the ones who deserve it will get through.

 

Exactly. Hattez is a good example. He most likely would have reached the 5 required like you were hinting.

 

i would have voted yes with hattez, but i abstain from voting on the pardons on which i consider myself to have any sort of friendly relationship with the pardon user.

you know cant be having that only pardon users are friends with staff going around.

and @ghast, back when i marketed which was long before your time, i was one of the most liked people on this site, but being as i have no reputation to uphold i don't really care anymore, and have been tainted by the spamforum.

Reading through this thread, there's a lot of arguing, but nothing really points to exactly why there is a need for more Staff.

Yes, there are a lot of people that are regularly here regularly hoping to aspire to a Staff position some day, but that is not a reason to need more Staff members. The site is running fine at the moment. Some improvements to the site may be needed, but that is not a responsibility for the Staff solely, as we are all a part of the community, and should work together towards desired improvement.

Recent promotions, current promotions, moderator logs, etc.
--- These topics don't need to be discussed here as it doesn't directly relate to the topic of this thread: The need for more mods.

 

I think there needs to be more mods too, I saw a guy who was scammed, sent like 5 mods private messages and added them on skype, not a single one answered until about 4 hours later, (during that 4 hours the guy was able to scam another user for 15m)

Also this was around 6-10 pm eastern which I'd think would be an easy time to be online.
