Mod approval before posting a thread in market section

I think that anyone who wants to post a thread in the market section, it should be forwarded, reviewed and approved to a moderator. There has been a lot of members who don't read the stickies and I feel that this is a good way to get people to read the stickies and learn how to post on the market section.

If a mod denies the approval of the thread, it shall not be visible and without no notifications to the person who post the thread. He will soon to realize why his thread is not been approved yet because his thread isn't visible to the forums/public yet. This will make the user look over his post and correct any problems and re-submit his thread again and then the mod will approve it.

The only downside to this is as many users who post a thread, a lot of threads will need to be reviewed for approval.

This is a suggestion.

 

Seeing the amount of threads that are made in the Runescape account section alone, this is a terrible idea.

Not mentioning, Dave is taking a leave so one of the most active moderators won't be able to contribute. There would be a lot of outstanding threads.

 

no thanks, that would require a fuck ton of extra work, if you find threads that are in violation of the rules, just report them.

 

I think in the runescape market section, people post pictures and actually put a lot of time in their post, but I don't know that for sure. I don't play runescape anymore and don't check out that section anymore but I mean who's really going to waste their time to post all the stats on your account?

I guess you can target specific forums that requires mod approval?

There are a lot of people in the Runescape account section that don't post proper threads. With that being said, a general member can help by informing the publisher with what needs to be include and allow that person to fix it before reporting the thread.

A specific section would be more reasonable, yet - all market threads are equally a cluster.

 

No. Way to much work involved, Moderators have plenty to do already.

 

Reporting the ones which break the rules is quicker than approving ALL the ones that don't?¿ So the current system is more effective than the flip. I've never seen a time where the abundance of people not following stickies has been so detrimental that the market can't function fine. Just avoid threads that don't have proof.

 

You'll never find staff that'll have the time to review every single thread posted in the market.

I feel like this falls into the "restricting the market" category that Sythe has said time and again won't happen. Also it's a massive waste of time; mods have better things to do than sift though hundreds of pages of boring posts trying to find minor errors that can be easily reported by normal users.

 

This would kill the site.

 

I am also going to say no support. Now I wish I had a major reason other then what's been said. But I don't so I will leave it at that.

 

This would be fine if we had a shit ton of mods from all time zones. We don't have that and won't have that so I don't think it will work.

 

Not just that... people come here because they want to buy/sell shit instantly. Taking that away is just asking people to go elsewhere >_>

 

This will never happen, and here's why:

1. Would take far too long for threads to be approved
2. Workload on mods would increase tenfold easy, if not more.
3. Would fall under market restriction, which Richard has already stated we're trying to avoid at all costs

That being said, the current system is the best route we have.

If you see a thread that violates the rules we have in place, report it.
