Require some kind of price update timeframe?

There are ton, like 95% of seller threads with advertised prices on the thread as $2.7M to $2.9M and then when you contact or go on the website the prices are really $3.5+.. (Refering to Rs07 Gold, don't play EOC)

Is there any current rule against this false advertising? I understand the sellers should have some time to update thread and prices but if they have time to update their websites to raise prices, they should have time to update their advertising threads here on sythe to not falsely advertise.

    Any opinions on this?

Its true. People is doing false advertising with a much higher rate than they do but we cant do anything.. No rules can be created because theres no ways to confirm it (only if a mod watch the threads but thats too much work...) + people with thread layout dont necessarly wanna change their layout everytime

I understand that, but if they want to change their price on their website, they can change their price in the threads. As of now a lot of the threads are just.. yah go buy off my website. It is all just free advertising for their websites.. than you get there and the price is 50 cents higher per mil or something? It is getting a little out of hand.

They could have a thread layout made where they get the photoshop file with the price on a different editable layer, it wouldn't be impossible if it was required and it really isn't fair to the people who update their threads legitly.

Not saying it'd be a good idea, but is it even possible to allow users to edit their own thread titles in vBulletin?

Yes it is possible to allow this, although the title isn't so much the issue, I understand they don't have the permission mask (generally) to edit that, however this is more for the first post which shows inaccurate prices.

Ah I see. While I think false advertising shouldn't be allowed, it's a hard thing to enforce because the buyer can always just turn down the offer/trade if it's too high. If somebody can supply an efficient way of preventing this, I'm sure I'll support.

Making it a rule and reporting a post when they are advertising $2.99/M but link in same post shows $3.65/M should suffice, give them 24 hours to update it similarly to how account sales must have stats pics/other requirements. It may be a lot of work at first but once it is established people could adhere to it.

    No support.

Market fluctates changing prices. Different payment methods, bulk/small sales and other factors affect prices.

No need to have a strict ruling on having a correct accurate said price. Not hard to contact them for an up-to-date price.

Not many designers gives their photoshop file. If they give it, it will cost more. People dont want to spend more. + sythe allows advertising of our websites on threads and i dont see any problem with that. If you dont like the prices you see, yougo to another thread.

I know sometimes it can be frustrating that they dont give the same rate as their thread but just dont do the trade then. Too much work having rules on this, running

Actually Sellermans point is pretty valid and is a reason I'm going to have to deny support. By saying a week ago it was cheaper than it is now, you are agreeing that the market fluctuates a lot.

Th3RSG0D has a good point too. He is saying that the image files used in most shops would have to be continuously edited, meaning the shop owner would probably want he image file from the creator. Which in turn would be a loss for the graphic artist and would be a huge hassle and waste of time regardless of who changes it.

Tell people to fix a price is not ok. People can play with their prices when talking to a customer. Like sellerman said, bulk/small orders, payment method, etc. are all things that changes the price

If they have time to update their site, they have time to update their free advertisement. False advertising isn't OK in any market that I know of. They are still in their bumping daily or multiple times a day. If they want to be lazy they can have something like some do where they say, "Price Fluctuates" or Priced: "$3/M and up" but advertising $3/M just to be douped when you get to the site is wrong to allow here.

How mad would people be to go to a gas station and see prices at $3.00 per gallon only to get inside and find out the price is really $3.65 per gallon? And this is allowed and OK here? Sorry you are in the business that has changing prices daily, you still need to take control of it. Don't advertise price if your not able to, no price is better than an inaccurate one.

The real fact is almost 99% of the people in 07 market are advertising at 2.99/3ish a mil. when the lowest they sell for is 3.7ish. Some of the people only have to edit their text in thread, or even report their thread to have the title changed. i've contacted alot of the gold sellers already and none will sell at the price they advertise

I understand what your saying but at the moment 07 prices are extremely volatile, they have risen by ~$0.5 per mil in the last few days. Sometimes it's hard to keep up, and editing the thread doesn't seem like a priority.

I just don't see laziness as a valid excuse for it, if people have time to update their prices for their site, time to bump their threads, they have time to update their thread.

This is definitely a problem. The procedure should work like this:

    > User reports the thread with proper evidence.
    > The reported user receives a time limit to edit the prices so they correlate with the prices on their site.
    > Failure to comply with the request, the user is infracted and the thread is locked.

Rules should be enforced against this. It gives that person an unfair advantage in the market by false advertising.

Edit: The prices must be a significant difference, otherwise it isn't a big deal.

I know tons of sellers/buyers that buy/sell at $3/m for massive bulk via WU.

Again, they advertise a ballpark figure. There are tons of different payment methods, and sample size factors that affect prices and why they are priced differently, and hence advertised as so, even if said price advertised is incorrect at the current time.

I've been in the market since 05, I know what I'm/you are talking about.

Thread title editing has been discussed and denied more times than I can count.

If someone's false advertising then report the thread and it'll be changed accordingly. As for the OP well, you can take two seconds to check the price on the website. It'd be more hassle to regulate everyone than to just go look.
