    I have heard a few stories in the past about PlayerAuctions saying there is no proof so you don't get insurance. Anyone know whats the go and how you prove an acc has been recovered?

    You have to supply them evidence that the account was recovered by the original owner, so if you can't get Jagex to tell you it has been you wont get refunded.

    More goes into the investigation and consideration of each case. There was a time when PA was very strict on this subject (i.e. it was difficult to receive market credit), so likely the complaints the OP has heard may be from times past.

    Myself, and the other product managers examined the system when I took over back in October, and made significant adjustments to the review process so that more scrutiny goes into each case review with the primary goal of reducing our own human error.

    Since we've made the changes... I really can't recall seeing any complaints recently about PA's account process since that time now that I think about it. So, I would gather the changes have had positive effects. And of course, for any particular rare occurrence of trouble, people know I'm around to help out.

    I still don't understand why PA middlemans account sales, like account trades actually even resemble being "secure."


    The PA post above me is PR bullshit, there isn't any way to rule whether an account was recovered or not. Any "significant adjustments to the review process" are mostly irrelevant.

    PA has good support if you know who to ask like the guy above. Explain the situation and he will more and likely try to solve your problem hisself

    But they do give you your money back if it is recovered or give you a new account, its not about the account being recovered. If they account is recovered PA gives you your money back and im sure they get the users account banned, but they don't lose out so.

    This requires the purchase of an additional insurance policy following the purchase of the account. Its by no means a guarantee either. You're still losing out.

    They have no way of knowing if it was legitimately recovered or not, all they can do is guess.

    It's not about proving if/how it was recovered, or who was responsible. It's more directed towards returning the account. If a claim is made PlayerAuctions support staff will contact the seller in order to secure the account regardless of which state it's in. The only situation in which a refund is concluded is if the seller is unable to redeliver the account in a solid and stable state. Therefore if a false claim is made and the account wasn't recovered, the seller shouldn't have any problem recovering the account and delivering it again anyways

    TLDR; don't sell accounts with a warranty unless YOU actually own them. You should never have a problem recovering your own account.
