Wisdom Teeth Surgery Overrated?

Personally i think it's overrated, but everyone is different in terms of pain and reactions. Let me know what you think by using the poll or posting below!

 

I was miserable for a week.

 

Mentally, physically, or both?

 

Physically. Eating sucked. Talking sucked. Laying on a pillow sucked. Living sucked

 

I thought the after effects were a lot worse to be honest. Just trying to lay down and sleep comfortably and eat. They were all pains.

 

Did you take T3's?

 

Im not sure but I can feel mine coming in, and my sisters' progressed further, gawd I don't want to have to go through the pain.. My tonsils hurt bad enough when they got removed.

And it's not even daaatt painful, its overrated

 

im just glad i had mine finally taken out..but my experience wasnt bad at all..i didnt really hurt at all...took one pill when i got home and never took another then just followed routine to cleanse out like 3-4x times a day..by the following week i was eating fries and burgers like almost nothing

 

I had two taken out. I was awake, it was quick and easy and did not hurt.

I WAS super anal about care and my foods though since a good buddy of mine had gotten dry socket really bad so I was terrified of that.

Didnt eat solid food for about 3 days and was very careful when I made the change. I have two impacted ones I may need to do something about here soon, but they cause no pain and have moved little to none in 4-5 years.

 

It was pretty painful but You can't focus on something else. It would hurt eating hard food and you need medication when it really hurts its overrated

 

Exaggerated is the word you're looking for.

Pain is experienced differently among everyone.

 

As ghast said, pain is different to everyone. I got my 4 wisdom teeth taken out all at once in the same day, and I literally felt no pain at all. The only thing I felt were the incisions being made the with scalpel but it really just felt like a scratch being made. So for me there was no pain but during the week my mouth was as big as a chipmunks.

 

yeah pain is diff for everyone, and if they put you on gas or put you to sleep you'll be fine. it might hurt a little afterwards, but just stick with smoothies

 

There can be no admissible data from this poll. Everyone has a different experience, with massively altering variables ranging from the skill of their doctor and nurses, to their pain tolerance, to their anesthesia tolerance, to their time spent in surgery, to the medication they received, to their post-surgery treatment and care-taking.

 

Yes, very much over rated

 

Mine was extremely painful, kept me out of commission for a week, and bled periodically for the five days after during exercise... but one of my wells didn't heal correctly after they had to drill the tooth in half in my mouth prior to extraction. So I'm an exceptional case. My brother had them done and was fine within 36 hours, eating normal food after 2-3 days.

Had mine removed a few years back. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Quick procedure, minimal pain. The swelling afterwards is a bit annoying, but other than that I was fine. Just follow your doctor's instructions carefully to avoid dry sockets.

 

This guy right here. Basically sums up my experience correctly, if you stay on the meds and everything then you should be fine.
