Possible solution against chargebacks on PayPal

Hello to the Sythe Community.

As a few highly trusted users have told me, one of the ways you can avoid getting chargebacked on PayPal is to have the buyer send an email containing information about the trade you're commencing, while clearly stating that they authorize the virtual goods transaction to your email. Along with this email, a valid ID showing the same name, address and DOB as registered on their PayPal account should be sent as an attachment as well.

Has anyone else seen this work/won chargeback cases yet?

 

This is common practice for most large gold sellers.

 

I'm a beginner in selling here so just trying to get a clear understanding

 

We generally don't do any email confirmation but we do require the user to submit a government issued ID matching the name and area, also with large first time buyers we require that they submit a screenshot of their recent PayPal history to make sure nothing sketchy is on there. Finally we make sure that their IP/address/ID all match geographically. This can be hard without a website as Skype resolvers can be unreliable, but obviously if someone has an IP from UK, ID from USA and PayPal address from Canada you know something sketchy is going down

 

How did that issue with the 700 Pound chargeback?

 

That wasn't through PayPal, it was UK bank transfer

I thought UKBT's could not be affected by a chargeback. What happened?

 

Probably a stolen UKBT account that sends money. I've seen couple times with bank accounts got stolen and they send a large amount of money to goldsellers and there are chances that you will lose the case so far I know

 

Thank you for these useful tips I was recently victim to a couple of currency exchange scams, and I'm definitely looking into becoming more picky on who I deal with. Following these procedures should help me detect possible scams.

 

Most people on sythe at least still only accept paypal from trusted users only. Has any1 used this method for lots of untrusted people? I think firstly it would be difficult to convince people to send their ID's to you

 

Well for selling and buying 07 GP just make your own website with build it protection where it will check there PP email as well as send you there address ect. and you can just take pics of your logs, with your own site your c panel will look something like this:
