Anyone looking to make money/enter new Markets on PA, Read Here

Hey all,

As you guys know, I took over PA back in October, and have been pretty active here on Sythe engaging the community. I really appreciate you guys interacting with me, and helping me to understand a lot of the issues I've "inherited". Things have been moving along really well.

Part of what I have been doing has been experimenting with new markets to get into. One in particular, I am bringing to you guys.

We've just completed a soft launch of a particularly new product type on our site, and within 20 weeks, 50% of the inventory was sold. We did this only with a handful of sellers, and with doing zero marketing/announcements for this.

It is a huge market with high performance on our site.

If anyone here would be interested in exploring a new market, I am extending an invitation now to Sythe sellers to do another test with us.

I've thought about announcing this particular market, but for the time being, I'd like to work again with a small pool of people with direct feedback so I can know and understand how to appropriately support this market before we make a larger launch and do marketing to drive traffic.

Tangible goods?
Nope. It is still a digital item, so it works within the current framework.

Is it illegal?
Nope. In fact, it has been made a whitemarket in Europe, and remains a grey market in the US (like RMT).

Is it time consuming?
Unlike RMT, this particular market doesn't require production. It is purely a secondary market driven marketplace (i.e. re-selling previously owned goods). This is something that can easily be done on the side.

What is the realistic potential?
Research we have done has shown that this particular market is worth an estimated $300m - $500m annually. Small alpha tests have shown a very large demand on our platform, without even announcing it. Early adopters FTW. PA has existing traffic and active users to bring aggressive organic growth

What will it cost me?
Free to participate. Most who get involved will already have assets which can be re-sold.

What's in it for me?
Early adopters will get training on business strategy, user acquisition, and channels for sourcing. We'll give you the tips and tricks on how to be successful. When we do a "full launch" all other sellers will have to figure it out on their own

Also, please fix your elo boosting section. It is a huge potential market, but people that sell botted accounts like Elo Edge - etc have an unfair advantage since their listings are always on top, or make it so they can only have 1-3 active offers. Check out the LoL account section. It's filled with spam of the same account for the first few pages. This is not very attractive for buyers..

Just a quick note, people providing their PA usernames will be getting preference. As much as I'd love to send out individual, personalized PMs to everyone interested, I just don't have the time to juggle both my inbox and my PMbox here. Sorry guys (my Sythe PM box already gets reasonable amount of pings, and it would't be conducive to this type of information sharing/feedback).

I'd also prefer to conduct the test with users who are already familiar with how PA works to make the testing process smoother and with a minimal learning curve.

Those who provided their PA user names will get a newsletter from me inclusive of the research and findings we've found for this particular market and some instructions on how to participate in the next soft testing period. Those interested will get a special invite to a Trello board dedicated for this next test phase on Friday. If we have the same results as last time, then I'd be really excited to share the outcome with the rest of the Sythe community.

I've been trying to get verification from you that you saw my requests about an internship/research project with Player Auctions. I know you've been swamped with PMs and have various threads on here, so I'm not sure if you've seen them. Can you acknowledge that you've seen my requests? An internship for this summer is probably not an option anymore since it is so late, but I am going to be starting this research project this summer. I will be posting more about this on Sythe within the next few months after I finish this quarter of college. I'd be thrilled to have the opportunity to communicate with you or other Player Auctions staff as I perform my research on the markets linking RuneScape and "the real world."
