Whats the state of 07 gold market?

As the title says, was wondering what the state of the 07 gold market is now?

Will it continue to be stable?

 

RS2007 gold market is very stable. Prices have only varied by ~10% off the mean for the past ~8 months. Runescape 2007 Gold prices have been less volatile than real gold prices for the past half year.

 

Looks like it's safe to invest some gold then

 

Still not an ideal time for a long term investment, with runescape legacy mode coming out it could at least temporarily drop the prices. If you're just going to hold it for a month or two and sell it however yeah its safe to do.

 

Darkest dream is right, with legacy approaching it wouldn't be a good idea to invest, at least until we know exactly how legacy mode is going to look.

 

Depends on how long you plan to hold the RSGP.

2007 RS doesn't have a guaranteed life, and thus the RSGP has no guaranteed return (govt. securities/bonds v shares). I mean, it's all hypothetical scenarios and ifs and buts. For all we know, 07 could last 1 or 2 more years, maybe less, maybe more...maybe it could shut down tomorrow.

Whatever you decide, it's best to keep it short term. Also, if you do decide to purchase some GP, make sure it's not at the current market rate, as I doubt RSGP will go up in price to make it a fruitful investment.

 

Not for more than a short amount of time, you can get banned easily RWTing in 2007.

 

Gp really isn't anything you 'invest' in, unless you take advantage of low prices from panic.

 

Relatively stable -- I don't see legacy changing much.

 

I hope legacy raises the price a little bit so I can dump everything I have

 

I couldn't speak to this for RS, but what I have seen happen in other MMO's are people playing the markets.

WoW & EVE are good examples. People purchase those game currencies during the middle of development cycles (when prices are lowest) and then hold until the next expansion or major patch is released when demand/price increases.

ESO is a fresh market for anyone wanting to experiment with this.

I've recently on boarded a financial analyst from NY and these past two months he has set up a new data warehouse and has been helping me to dig into our data. Very interesting things I've been finding which I'll likely release towards the end of this month for any market players who are interest.d

 

It can only drop as time goes on, more gold gets dumped in the game.

 

I hope that legacy won't change much
Shortly after legacy was anounced on the website of runescape I knew for my self that alot of people were trying to dump their 07

 

Our markets are controlled by a vast amount of young entrepreneurs.
The level of panic mode induced by any kind of potential update creates massive fluctuation in +- % of the current gold price. Carrying a massive stock in osrs gp before legacy is introduced is a massive risk with potential +++ reward
