What I suggest is make it so all existing $200+ Donors receive prize boxes above the initial required $100 Donation. This would also act as an added donation benefit/perk, as there are not that many at current, for $200+.


Option 1:

I.e, $400 Donor now = 6 prize boxes (300/50), $300 Donor now = 4 prize boxes. Etc.

Hopefully it would appease higher donors as well, as they would receive increased prize boxes.



Option 2:

If that seems to generous, then make it for every second $100 amounted donation.

I.e, $400 Donor now = 4 prize Boxes ($100-$200 = 2 and $300-$400 = 2) etc.

 

even though It won't benefit me it would seem fair for the donators that donated over 100$.
edit; Second one seems a bit more fair, because with the first option people like arcus will get 50 random miniranks which seems a bit excessive, in my opinion.

 

Maybe one box per $50 donated after 100 for a maximum of 5 boxes? Show appreciation for past support but not flood the market.

 

Option two is fair I think.

At the end of the day, they donated before it was introduced. Just because of previous donations, that doesn't mean they are entitled to anything which comes out as an update.

Option 2 presents a happy medium for me, you acknowledge their prior contributions by giving them Prize boxes also, but don't flood the market by handing certain users 3-4+ Boxes.

 

Prize boxes just released and you make a thread about this already.

What about option 3: Remove prize boxes entirely.

I find it interesting you hide your donation rank to avoid comments supporting bias.

I've had my Donor rank hidden for close to 1 year now. What on earth are you spewing? Go webcache my posts from the past months to a year, you won't see my Donor rank.

This, we have donators who sit at $2100, $2500 ect, if they get 1 for every 50 after 100 that is going to be 40+ miniranks for each donator coming into this new addition..

 

When the new donor ranks came out, did they say to old donors : You cant get the new donor ranks because you donated before the update. No they told the donors that they can have it if they want to or keep their old donor rank. Same thing here.. Saying that the donors cant have prizeboxes because they didnt donate after the update isnt fair. We should reward them because they are the most loyal people on Sythe!

 

I think this is the best solution. Can you add it to the op? If we flood the minirank market with hordes of miniranks, they won't be worth enough to encourage people to donate in $50 chunks in the first place.

 

Option 3? None? where's dat. Poll doesn't fulfil the role of a poll if it's bias.

 

Failure to disclose this fact suggests bias. Furthermore, before an official poll can, or rather should be made, a suggestions thread gathering input from the community for probable changes or updates should be made.

Just make a thread where users can post suggestions first, collect the results, and move on to creating an (un)official poll.
There's no need to expedite the process. Good points and reason(s) behind those points will need to be discussed before implementation is considered.

 

Voted, I don't understand why ya'll think it's fair for people who have already donated hundreds of dollars to not receive the prize boxes that they're qualified for.

 

What's your point? Users who have freely donated thousands of dollars of their own money deserve the same treatment, dont you think?

 

Think about it, if you're against this you're trying to justify penalizing people simply because they donated hundreds or thousands of dollars of their own money to this website before they even had an incentive to donate so much.

 

I think symbolic 1-3 prize boxes for $200+ donors up to #1 donor wouldnt hurt tbh, but defintiely not prize box every $100 donation like it's stated in option 2

 

The only people who care about miniranks are the community active members, most have which have donated big sums. The likes of you and I (all of you participating in this and other community matters) and if everyone just gets a bundle of miniranks off the bat then it just nullifies the whole thing IMO.

Regardless of justification or reasoning, a fair poll still needs to cover all (or most possible) grounds to reflect the community's thoughts. If you say "oh look 100 people want X" when in fact most don't but it was closest to none, it's not really a fair poll or result.

 

I agree with both of these points. This poll doesn't represent enough of the community's thoughts. Because the poll was made upon thread creation, it reflected only Sellerman's views, initially, until or unless he edited his OP and the options underneath it. And, with this ability to edit the poll options in the OP, the votes users cast for option 1 or 2 may not agree with new versions of the poll options that lists certain situations per the OP because it was edited.

I, personally believe that individuals who have made large donations should receive some number of prizeboxes or certain display of thanks just as new donations will. I do not know what would be fair in relation to the minirank market and its condition, so I won't comment on a particular number per $50 donations made.

 

It's not that it's not fair, but looking at the large amount of people who would be getting miniranks could "flood" the minirank market if not ruin it completely.

 

No to everything. No need to be "Fair" these are donations. This is incentive to donate, if one has already donated before now, shit happens. This is an unprofessional poll/thread also.
