As a noobto Sythe forums user,
(I've actively posted over 50k times over a 5/6 year period on another forum and have used several others over the years)

Id like to say I'm sorry if this has already been suggested in the past.

I actually only just now found this out, that people who donated on here literally have just donated, for some reason and i dont know where i got this idea from, i always thought people that donated done it for the following reason.

Say User 1 is selling an account, for $150 - User 2 is new and is thinking, hmmmm i don't really want to get scammed.

I thought the donator system was basically user 1 can donate $250, and is unable to withdraw his money back until he sends in a request (before leaving the site)

So the donator system is basically scam insurance, if you donate say $250... You can now make sales of upto $250 pretty much with no worrying whatsoever as if you was to scam (user 2 provided the necessary proof) Sythe uses the money he donated to pay back the victim.

Might sound stupid, but that's honestly up until a few minutes ago i thought it worked, i just read though it's literally just donating to the site to help run it, lol.

So sorry if this has been suggested but id like to suggest, Insurance System.

It shows like how much they've donated, with a safe symbol either side.

And as said, it's a place someone can donate say $50, but the money stays there until he/she wants to leave the site they can request for their money back, if they break the rules and get banned (For whatever reason) it's their fault.

It helps sellers (That i hope to be one day)
And buyers like i am today.

    Thanks, feedback welcome.

the idea is nifty, however the problems with that are..

someone puts the money in hold, goes on a scam spree using the falase trust of having money in a insurance policy, then he scams the inusrance money back, which then leaves the scammed user bitching out sythe wanting his money, when sythe was scammed aswell.

Also this isn't a form of donating, you donate for perks, and to help the site, not build a false sense of trust.

    User 1 ($250 insurance) - Selling an account $200.
User 2 (new) - Buying the account.
User 2 (new) - Pays via site with no chargebacks
    User 1 ($250 insurance) - Sells account.
User 1 ($250 insurance) - 1 week later recovers the account.
    User 1 ($250 insurance) - BANNED.
User 2 (new) - Received his money back.
$50 left over goes to Sythe.

    What would they loose?

I understand it can cause "false hope" but in order to do that, say someone becomes an insurance user with a small $50 or so, yes it would be possible in a short amount of times he could sell 3/5 I don't know (I don't believe it's that easy to sell bulk accounts without looking dodgy)

Basically have a scam ready more than the amount you have donated so the scammer still makes money, once he looses the insurance he donated.

It's possible yes that it could happen but not very likely.

I don't see it as false hope, i see it as well insurance.

People selling RS gold for example, if they're insurance for say $250, people can trade and go first with ease knowing they won't get scammed or they'd get the money back, and of course if they don't want to risk loosing anything, they just buy upto how much they're insured for.

What i don't understand is how someone will scam the insurance money back.

I mean basically if you want to apply to withdraw your funds (leaving the site) You have to give a valid reason, explaining why, have a 3 day rule or something after you make an application to get it back, if accepted, you get your money back, deactivate your account and leave.

I personally would use this system myself one day (What i thought was already in place) And happily insure myself for $500/$1,000 depending on how active i am at the time.

The insured money isn't meant to be easy to get back, only if your application for a refund is accepted.

And i know now that we can donate towards the forum.

it just seems like a hassle, that is better off being avoided all together. if someone needs to put up insurance then i personally wouldnt turst trading that guy.

any of the legit traders on this site will pay back the victims if they get scammed by a hacker etc.

it would just cause to much drama. it's not a bad idea, it just complicates things.

Good idea, but as Delta stated earlier and I dont think you understood:

User A: Pays $250 "insurance" to Sythe
User A: Uses the $250 credibility to scam $1000 in 4 quick trades before he gets banned
Users B/C/D/E (scammed): Ask Sythe to pay them back
User A: Charges back the $250 "insurance"
    Users B/C/D/E AND Sythe: Fucked

Like I said and above have said, it's really not a bad idea - that's just how it could be abused.

Id also like to add, I believe the site will benefit from smooth/bad trade ratio.

I'm 0/1 so far ... lol so not looking good, 1 trade - got scammed.

I am new to these forums, and there's a lot that i don't understand, so please keep in mind I AM NEW so my views are coming from a newbie.

    BUT

In my opinion, RS gold EOC/07 forum sections, a majority of it looks very well laid out (from the traders themselves) I believe it to be quite a safe place to go, lots of higher trusted users (over time) and a few dodgy people trying, of course you'd get them.

RS accounts however, from what I've seen not close to being on the same level.

But if we had the option to open up our account stores, Insure ourselves for say $250 (likely most you'd need to be)

You can open your shop and give people the best piece of mind you're not a scamming ... and that you're here purely to be honest and follow the rules.

Having more people that we feel safe to trade with, will make the markets run smoother and id hope start to see more and more visitors and trades flowing. Safe smooth environment, everyones happy.

And thank you all for the feedback :) Just my 2 cents.

I get it now, had a bit of a brain fart lol, I thought meant, Scam someone, then try and get his insurance money back before he gets found out.

I do understand the risk, I mean, if you insure yourself for a high amount, in theory it's possible it could happen, you set up a scam involving more than one person, and scam enough to make it worth your while.

I'm a newbie so my opinion could be totally wrong, but i just don't see it happening.

The idea is honestly to try and promote a healthier/smoother trading environment :) But i do understand how it could possibly be abused.

As was stated before, that "insurance" policy could be abused. The main problem with account trades is that accounts can always be recovered. You can use a middleman for the trade itself, but recoveries will happen. Just be smart about who you buy from and how you pay :)

It has it's merits, but it's also impractical.

There's so many issues that could occur from it

-Bond money would have to be held for 6months-year after last trade commenced before the bond could be refunded.
-Richard would have to hold and manage said money.
-It would increase the likely hood of people faking evidence.

Might as well end on something nice =)
It would be nice for people to get their money/a fraction of their money back, but all in all safe trading practices can make up for this.

I agree with most of the above comments. Sythe isn't a short-term insurance provider, and I can't even imagine how much extra work it would be for Richard to handle that kind of redistribution of money. As with any trade, you should know who you're dealing with before making the trade by using vouches, past experiences, etc. to gauge the trustworthiness of the other party.
