Legacy Mode Worth it?

Came onto runescape yesterday and I logged off after 10 minutes of trying to figure out all the gimmicks. I've been out of the loop for quite a while, is legacy mode worth waiting for? Or should I just call it quits for good with this game?

 

I would give it a try and wait, or you can play 07 during that time.

 

What do you mean worth waiting for? Do you plan on playing during the development of legacy? We don't know how it will exactly pan out, so waiting without playing is your best bet.

Legacy mode won't be the same as before. All the equipment, new content, bosses, training, balancing has all be catered to EoC style combat for the past year and a half. There isn't a practical way to have both pre-eoc combat and EoC on the same worlds, this was pitched to Jagex back when EoC came out and they said it wasn't possible, which they are right, because it isn't.

 

As Xier0 is saying, it won't be anything liek 2012 era. Dual wielding will still be possible and if you want old combat system. i suggest 07 but thats getting easier too now with the teleports to minigames...

 

I would wait just to see how it turns out. We know it won't be 100% the same thing, but who knows, maybe it will be enjoyable for you.

almost everything related to eoc is going to get polled. just calm your tits and wait for the beta. stop scaring all the people who hope to see pre eoc.

Legacy mode is going to be nothing more than a re-skin and momentum buff. The overhead prayers will still be 50%, the armors still degrade and degrade heavily on death, the food will still be rocktails not brews, summoning will still not be OP and there will be nothing different from the current game again... other than a momentum buff. Everyone thinks it's some great thing but it's literally nothing but a waste of development hours to make players think they [jagex] care.

 

Don't think it will have much of an impact, they honestly are just doing whatever they can to make as much money while runescape in general lasts.

 

No one here knows what they're talking about when they tell you how legacy is going to be. Mods are pretty vague. We shouldn't/ can't make a good decision for you. Just spend an hour playing and if you don't want to play then don't. Read what mods say about legacy and not assumptions people are making. If it sounds promising enough for you then wait.

Legacy is not pre-eoc or else they would call it that.

My take on "legacy mode"

 

Legacy combat has not yet been released. I think that it is somewhat of a compromise between RS3 and RS2007. Jagex realizes that some players fall between those two eras, and this update could boost their numbers.

I think Legacy mode is better for things like staking / PK'ing, while EOC is way better for PVP play. This update allows players to toggle it on/off so they can do certain activities in Legacy, then switch back to EOC. Pretty cool idea.

 

Hoping it will bring a part of runescape back I quit RS3 since the day EoC was released. I started in 07 again, but im only lvl 85 with no impressive skills. On RS3 I am lvl 131 (pre-EoC) with 99 str, hp, mage, 95 prayer, 96 herb, etc. And that took 8 years for me to build. I wish I would at least be able to start making money again from tormented demons or something . Also, before I quit for good on RS3 I want to get 99 range, 99 pray, 99 def and 99 attack.

I wouldn't count it out until you give it a week after its release. Sure, it won't be back. But a HUGE reason why alot of people quit permanently is that most people like above hate EOC and really didn't wanted to start from scratch again in 07. So who knows, maybe it'll work at least a little bit and get at least some people back. Even 10% of growth would be alot considering how many people have quit
