How hard is it to edit a Gif?

Howdy, I wasn't sure where else to post this but hey.

I have found a gif but the background is black, Really would like to same thing but with the translucent background or png or whatever it is we call it down here.



How hard would it be to have the black background removed?

I genuinely have no idea bout this sort of stuff so figured id ask here, would it be a case of remaking the entire thing?

 

Try using sony vegas 9 / 10 / 11 / 12
Put your GIF on timeline then use function in video FX 'Chroma Keyer'
There was option to click to choose colour and then to click on colour you'd like to have removed. I can't lead you because my crack for it went to hell and I'm too lazy to get new one
Once you do that save it as video then convert it here to .GIF

 

I believe you can take the .gif into photoshop through a third party program and edit it frame by frame as well. When I was looking it up, I wanted to change the size, but I assume edits like the one's you're talking about would work as well.

 

Adobe After Effects.

This kind of stuff takes time to learn, the programs are hard to use when a beginner.

There are a lot of tools online that you can edit GIFs with- nothing special, but cropping, resizing, etc are easy. Check for a transparency option, anything fancy will have to be done in AAE

 

You could open in photoshop,
>Window>timeline>

then magic wand each frame.

Right click after you wand and click "similar" to get the rest of the black. Although youd have to be careful to keep the nose and eyes. (anything black)

chroma keyer (green screen) would probably remove those unfortunately. Otherwise that would be the best option

You can make it with a program i forget i think adobe photoshop, i watched some youtube tutorial a while ago it was mad simple once you actually see someone doing it i think it just takes time tho

 

Yeah, this. Otherwise, the GIF format isn't amazing when it comes to having an alpha channel (that's why a background matching this site's post color was used).
