Looking for a city to move to, suggestions?

Hey guys, I'm just about finished up with my first two years of college (I graduated high school two years early so I got the first two out of the way locally) and I'm looking for a city to move to. I'm doing a business degree so I can basically finish it anywhere.

Preferably a big modern city with lots of stuff within walking distance and a good scene after dark. I'll be getting an apartment and living there for at least two years while I finish up school.

Any ideas? Why?

There are a few cities I'm looking in in particular but I'm going to withhold them until I get a few replies to see what you guys think.

edit OH, within the US preferably. Although I eventually plan on exploring other counties I'm going to try and finish school here =p

 

Fredonia, NY .. huge college and its withing walking distance no matter where in Fredonia you live!

SUNY Fredonia is the college's name , give it a try

 

I'd point you to http://www.findyourspot.com/ to get quite a few suggestions for free; I actually know a few people who used it and happily live somewhere from the list it recommended.

when you plan on exploring, city's like munich or paris have a wonderful vibe/atmosphere and scenery. To live comfortably you would probably have to be abit more then financially stable but you will defo enjoy it.

 

Dallas or Austin. Both are great cities but of all the places (all over US mind you) I have been Austin, Tx is the most diverse. Such a random liberal city in a red state. You can hear a any sort of music within a stones throw of eachother. The nightlife and festivals are amazing. I NEED to move back.. if your feeling adventerous Mexico or the ocean is a fairly short drive away too.

Dallas is also great, but living around Dallas 20+ years has jaded me a bit.

 

Denver is a good place, and if your going to consider a place like that then....

Minneapolis is the place for you. There are tons of lakes around Minnesota, have one of the lowest unemployment rates, some of the healthiest people, easy use to travel (bus, light rail, bike, car). Places like MOA and a poppin' night life. And no, I'm not just saying it because I'm from Minnesota. We have a very diverse culture up here too believe it or not. These are just things I can think of on the top of my head.

 

Old Orchard Beach, Maine Close to the beach, close to outlets, close to the mountains, close to nightlife, close to ski resorts, close to borders of other states. Traveling to other states is super easy for a week/weekend getaway. You have Canada, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut or even New York.

Edit: Not claiming Canada is a state but, it's still close to travel for a visit.

no but sersly sav isnt too bad if you like city life.

 

not sure about the us, but if you feel like making bank irl, I recommend moving to alberta, Canada. the cost of living is not that high due to a constant oil supply In the sands, and every job pays like 20$/hour, even bagging stuff at a shop. I'm moving their soon as I heard everyone who moves there lives a nice life.
