    Future of Dogecoin?

Hey all, I was wondering what you guys see as the future of dogecoins. Will the continue to exist? Do you seem them rising in price at all, losing what little value they already have, or staying where they are?

I'm considering in investing around $100 in dogecoins which is why I'm asking. I'm mainly interested in them since dogecoins is the first wallet I've set up so far and it seems pretty nifty haha. I'm sure bitcoins and litecoins have a similar activation process....but I like doge so I like dogecoins.

    Future of Dogecoin?

I'd be surprised if they dropped much lower, don't expect a quick rebound up to what they where around the winter Olympics though.
But yeah now is a good time to buy, I bought some after clicking this thread at 135 sat ea I'd be surprised if they dropped much lower then the current price. Sell wall under 140 sat is small too.
My advice would be spend $100 on bitcoins. Chances are you'll get a better rate buying btc then buying doge on an exchange with it then buying doge directly, then spend half the btc on doge. If you want a more user friendly bitcoin client look into electrum.

    Future of Dogecoin?

Yeah Dogecoin only raised on hype from the Olympics. I'd suggest buying $50.00 max right now and holding just incase they do go up:)

    Future of Dogecoin?

One cent in the early stages of bitcoin would have landed you about 500$ a few months ago. If you had lost that cent... Well I'd have wrote it off and cut my losses.

much rather invest in gold and silver and bury it in the backyard, then to buy into the virtual currencies that you really have no power over, and will have to hope it doesn't going "Missing"

    Future of Dogecoin?

You are wrong about the part that you have no power over your crypto. With Bitcoin, you have COMPLETE power over your money. Nobody can steal them unless you give them access. For example in your scenario if you tell a friend that you have 50k in gold in your backyard, it may go missing shortly after. In comparison if you download a virus your coins may be gone shortly after also. The brilliance of Bitcoin is that you can encrypt your private keys to where even if someone steals your wallet, they won't be able to access it unless your encryption is weak. Nobody can ever reach your hand into your wallet, no bank can ever freeze your assets, no one can control what you buy or what you do with your coins. It's beautiful.

Since the release of bitcoin there has been no successful "hacks" into the system. Any malicious security holes that relate to bitcoin are from third party sources such as mtgox, or inputs.io. Protip: Don't store any significant amount of bitcoins in an online wallet.

Don't listen to all of these uneducated posts, besides X. Buy bitcoins! Dogecoin looks like it's gonna hit it big many communities are trying to pump it up but nobody knows. Your money is completely safe if you choose to want to have less risk and keeping it on an exchange.

Goodluck!! When people offer you information about Bitcoins, please listen to facts not opinion!!

I don't see any long term future with this. Maybe it'll continue to be traded on a small scale but after the meme fades and people lose interest in the novelty they are going to want to just switch to btc/ltc which businesses are actually starting to accept.

    Future of Dogecoin?

There are several alt coins that show some promise. For example Mastercoin. Well it's not really a alt coin, more of a further decentralization layer on top of bitcoin.

1.) you have to hope the market upholds, and that people will accept what you have in the virtual currency.

2.) why would i tell my friend i have money in the back yard?

and as for the no one can freeze your assest that silly that you people put such faith in these virtual coins its outstanding. keep wasting your money tho. /shrug

Gold is the same though. The market for gold could crash dramatically if there was some sort of natural disaster. Gold has little use beyond just being a shiny, nice looking metal. All currency is based on the faith that the market will be there when you want to trade in your stake of the market. A barter economy is exponentially more secure than a currency based economy, but barter generally only works on medium and small scales - so it is questionable.

I am a proponent of cryptos, and I hope they go. Will they ever go mainstream to where everyone has a BTC debit card or a wallet on their phone or something I don't know, but right now I do know that they're an interesting concept.

Cryptocurrencies are all but a fad. They're just bubbles created by the greedy. There are too many flaws & risks associated with the usages of cryptocurrency compared to fiat currency.

As with the tulip bubble, so shall this fall

what do you think the US gov money upholds too? its value is based off its gold stocks, gold has been the base for currency for oh idk, thousands of years?

interesting concept sure, but i'm not one to count my chickens before they hatch, and have gotten myself this far in life by making shitty investments.

Actually, we've been off the gold standard for decades.

Now a days, the term to note is "petrodollar." And with the fracking boom that is currently happening in the United States, there are rumors of the production scale to rival even OPEC's dominance of the majority of the world's supply. This will have a significant impact on the geopolitical stage as the US gains petro-dominance in the next decade.

    @Time To Buy

Regarding DOGE, although no one knows what'll happen to it in the future, I personally don't feel it is a safe investment long-term. It wouldn't hurt to invest a small sum of capital (something that you might have otherwise used for say, a night out) just to hold and see if it does indeed provide a return, but I do not recommend holding thousands of dollars of DOGE expecting it to hit $1, $2, $5, $100, etc.
