3 PT infraction for slander:

I propose handing out 3 Point infractions to users whose blatant ignorance and disregard for common curtsey leads to businesses (in this case PA), having their name/company slandered. These Infractions would only be handed out if said thread is made outside the Report a Scammer Forum.

It's terribly business practice, aswell as blatant ignorance and shows zero respect of said parties business. In this case, PlayerAuctions.

People consistently make threads titled 'Playerauctions are scammers', Playerauctions scammed' et al.

These threads, once read and replied to by us users here at Sythe.org, and aswell as PA reps themselves, allow us to deduce that 10/10 times PA has not scammed anyone, and they are not scammers.

• It's either the users ignorance and or laziness to follow the correct channels in order to resolve the issue.
• Spur of the moment panic when some sort of anomaly occurs on PA's end, that rends said user in a state of anxious must post as fast as I can, and disregard common sense.

Lastly, the PA reps here at Sythe.org make an assiduous effort in assisting all us Sythe.org users whenever we need help in regards to anything PA. They go out of their way to help us, and in return receive scam accusations and are berated by said threads. If not for them, so many issues would have taken far far longer to be resolved via PA's live chat support and email support, which us, and even the PA reps know is known to be quite frustrating at times.

Also, this is not only relevant to PA only, but I've used them as an example, this should apply for any business.

They used to just get removed when shown to be false. I don't see why punishing newbies that think they got scammed with help anyone.

That's true.

The thing is, all the threads closed for false accusations have the same title. Maybe the titles should be edited aswell, so a search doesn't bring up all these false accusations?

Ight. I'm fine with thread deletions. How about also editing the titles/deleting threads that have 'PA are scammers', in them once they have been locked/closed, so they don't appear in searches?

 

This is libel, not slander Although since they are very informal, I guess you could call it slander. Typically slander is spoken, more or less reactive.

I agree with your points though.

 

Deleting is just easy. Editing is just annoying but would be better.

 

We cannot be sure of what is being said is true or not. Even so, we cannot punish users for giving their voice about certain situations. Scam has different meanings, so in a certain context, they could have done such. Trying to interpret what they mean, and then infract them based on that is pure ignorance.

 

Reviews on companies are done freely all over the interwebs. If there's no proof then you're stupid believing everything you hear.

So, report these for edits/deletes on a case-by-case basis I guess. Denied.
