Do you skip school lessons?

Lol, kind of like the group of Chinese kids hanging in the toilet all day at my school.

 

I think I have more days skipped than I actually have days coming in...

 

Being in college, I don't have to hide. And yes. I skip two of my three classes every day, and I still have A's in both classes.


No one really NEEDS to go to computer science classes. Most people learn programming faster on their own anyway.

 

I never skipped @ High school, because there was nothing else that I could be doing otherwise. In college though, I used to cut class a lot. My favorite example of this was my 8:00 AM calculus for scientists and engineers class which was 4 days a week. EVERYONE skipped that class, and since it was graded on a curve, that means my test scores in the mid 60's gave me a B average in the class

 

Just finished my first week of uni. Was there for a grand total of 4 hours.

 

First week is always like that though. Although, mine will still be hectic as fuck due to being a student leader / god figure for freshmen and so on.

 

Never skipped high school but in college when I know that there is going to be a class lecture and nothing else (nothing to turn in, no in-class assignment etc.) I've skipped.

 

Granted it's still introductory but I think I'll end up doing majority of my course extra-murally. I don't think I'll be able to learn in lectures or workshops. Upon entering, eyes glaze over - from there the rest of the hour is wasted. All of the notes from the slides are put online anyways. Saves me spending ~ 1hr busing to/from Uni anyways.

 

I find that if you don't understand the lectures at first they're still worth going to. I've had a number of eureka moments going over my notes after lectures I've not understood. I suppose it depends on your attitude towards not understanding: do you want to understand, or do you just want to pass?

Lectures are generally put online, but I spend on average 3-4 hours on public transport each day to attend uni. You can actually use that time to go over notes which gives you more free time when you get home.

 

It's not that the content is too difficult or anything like that, they're just simply very boring. Also for me, as lame as it is, I learn best from reading/writing. In that respect, the style of lectures/workshops isn't conductive to a good learning environment for me personally so practically the only upside to being on campus is to scope out the local talent.

 

Not really my classes are pretty entertaining. Been learning a lot of interesting things in Geology atm. Might switch my major.

 

How do you guys skip lessons and manage to get A's? I can hardly get a B, even without skipping lessons.

 

It depends on how difficult the class is and how good your understanding is of that topic.

Not everybody can skip the same class but still manage to get an A, it varies on the person

 

It depends on whether the class is useful or not. I go for most of my lessons tho

Considering every class I miss = wasting 3 hours in detention Saturday night, I don't miss any classes.

 

In college yeah, attendance isn't mandatory anyway.

 

I sometimes skip woodwork and lunch. It has been proven that prison food costs more than school food in Finland. That really tells something about the taste.

 

Skipping a school lesson isn't worth it. I never skipped.
