What? I said if it's a guide he's selling, and staff banned the topic of his guide, then there are a lot more topics they'll need to consider banning for the reasons they might give for disallowing Unban Services.

Either that or prove his guide is readily available for free, which constitutes an insta-lock as per the guide section rules

Yes it's a ruse, but he is still offering a service, which you take the risk in paying for. Whether or not your account gets recovered, he gets paid. I am mad I haven't thought about this earlier. Could've made bank.

If somebody is making unfounded claims and is not consistent in providing the service they promise, it is comparable to scamming.

 

I don't see how it's a service. Reading the op he doesn't do anything but sends you a guide on how to do it. Original owner is the only one that can recover. His method isnt public so people don't know what it is and buy the guide and lose their money on something that can be found anywhere

He is selling a known guide which is not allowed. You argue that the rule should be removed and people be allowed to sell guides that are available and its up to people to buy.

 

He explains in his service that it isn't 100% guaranteed that you will get unbanned, but it will maximize your chances, so he says. I don't see how it's comparable to scamming considering he gave a disclaimer.

@OP What you think is professional is subjective. Unfortunately it is your fault for paying him for this service he provided.

 

LOl that guy is such a scammer...He says he can unban 80% of the accounts so i pmed him on skype and offered him this: if he can unban my rs3 account( was banned for rwt but not on my ip cus it was my friend), then ill pay him 5 times the price that his thread says. He said: he cant do that because its not guaranteed...lol

Because the letters not guaranteed, you're paying him to write a letter because you don't know how to write one yourself. I know several people on ownedcore who got unbanned by him and someone I played wow with got unbanned by him. He has custom letters for different situations which is a lot different than selling a guide. If he said he'd do it for 5x and didn't successfully get you unbanned you would have reported him and paying 5x more doesn't increase the unban rate it just made you look really shady.

 

In agreement with what Syed and Punjabi have said. We don't need to intervene and babysit the market. Let it run its course. His services are not guaranteed, and he states that. In regards to people stating his service are fraud, comparable to scamming and don't work, that's not true. He has unbanned people. Again to reiterate, it's not guaranteed, and he states that clearly. Let people decide if they chose to use his services or not. Don't simply get rid off his services due to scepticism.

That's the exact problem, how is it that you can charge someone and take advantage of someones misfortune with a service that isn't guaranteed? He makes unsubstantiated claims in his thread that clearly states he has a success rate of 80%. PROVE IT. If you're selling something in the market you're required to provide proof, why is it that he's not required to provide proof of his unbans? He has 1 vouch on his thread and that isn't even of someone who was unbanned, thats just someone whos using his service.

Also, disclaimers don't override the rules on Sythe.

 

That's not the point that is being argued. If someone is selling what is essentially common knowledge, and sending out non-personalized messages en masse (when advertised as otherwise), then it should be investigated.

I don't know why OP was advised to post this publicly, though. This has just turned into a smear campaign against a prominent unbanning service here on Sythe.
